lol you can't improve africa. the moment anyone does something good it gets looted for parts and sold for a fraction of its worth.
perfect example is the Grand Inga in the Congo. since 1950 they've wanted to install 40GW of hydroelectric power generation. they've managed to install 2350MW that operates at 40% of capacity.
everyone they've gotten involved from BHP, World Bank, and just recently Spain's ACS, has signed up, then GTFO after trying to work with the endless line of corrupt african leaders. ACS hilariously said on the way out, "the whole continent of africa is a shithole and we're never going back" (paraphrased).
Do you think it would be more difficult then the journey humans went through to found the US? Being different times I can see advantages and also disadvantages, but it's interesting to think about.
America was built in 200 years, while africa has had 10 times that. They will never modernize by their own hands and there will be no further opportunities to do so because their fate is being written in the dark rooms of Beijing.
