Fuck professional sports currently. They're beyond saving.

HillarysStrapOn 39 points ago +39 / -0

Pure commie propaganda parroted by a bunch of rich spoiled fags. No thanks, disposable money and free time to be used in preparation for commie disposal day ie Election Day

10
doug2 10 points ago +10 / -0

But they're so oppressed! Making what I will be lucky to make in a lifetime in a year by playing a sport! How horrible! So mistreated!

8
poogz 8 points ago +11 / -3

People need to stop paying so fucking much to watch a bunch of sweaty retards playing sportsball. Don't get me wrong, I love me some sport. But they don't deserve so much goddamn money.

3
thuggishruggishtrump 3 points ago +3 / -0

Supply and demand, they get paid like that because idiots pay 100 bucks for a ticket to sit at the top of the stadium and with all these new stadiums being built ain't no telling how much the tickets are now.

1
poogz 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah, I hear you brother.

3
Minarchist_Manlet 3 points ago +3 / -0

People can do what they want as long as I don't have to pay for it.

I read somewhere that the Chicago Bulls barely had 10,000 fans per game before Michael Jordan showed up. Once they signed him, they sold out every game. Dude totally earned his millions.

The demand for sports has been high. The money that changes hands is enormous, even without considering the billions that get gambled. Athletes that are talented and healthy enough to rise above the millions they are competing against to reach the pinnacle of their sport are definitely deserving of heavy compensation. It seems weird that a backup quarterback can make more than the CEO of a successful business, but good backup qbs are actually harder to find than CEOs.

The problem I have with sports (other than the current kneeling crap) is that there's so much money on the line that athletes have switched from win at all costs to stay healthy for as long as possible to make as much money as possible in their lifetimes. The intensity level is modern sports just doesn't compare to what it used to be when the athletes had to take offseason jobs in order to feed their families. Used to be a good pitcher would fight you if you tried to pull him from a close game, now they all whine if they have to pitch past the sixth inning. Because stretching that career one or two more years can mean an extra ten million. Can't really blame them for that but the integrity of the sport suffers for it.

2
poogz 2 points ago +2 / -0

I hear you in terms of their skill they are extremely talented individuals. The problem I have is the contracts that they sign that basically render them to be talking heads for large corporations. The players have obligations to the teams that disallows them from speaking their mind more often than not. I know it is a bit of a stretch for me to say this, but sometimes I feel that they are extremely limited in some of the freedoms that we should be guaranteed as Americans. My problem is with the leagues themselves that get to damn political. The players are rewarded for pushing whatever agenda that is going to get their team some attention to sell some merch. The team owners are obligated to listen to their masters at the league headquarters. I understand they are huge marketing tools, I just think it is annoying.

1
Bubbahax 1 point ago +1 / -0

True enough. It's the influence of such massive amounts of money. Characters from sports history (like Al Davis or Bill Veek) aren't allowed in modern sport. Instead of chasing championships, they're chasing dollars.

5
samhunt382482374 5 points ago +6 / -1

Exactly. All these cucks nowadays wasting their time watching sports and playing video games when they could be doing so many more productive things

5
HillarysStrapOn 5 points ago +5 / -0

Instead of TV I focus on the following:

Cardio, weapons, bullets, and acquiring stacks of tires to light on fire when the faggot commies show up. Brought lots of shit to riot with but forgot a fire extinguisher did ya?

Welcome to Deplorable Country Commies

4
Bubbahax 4 points ago +4 / -0

I totally want to see a video of people throwing flaming tires at rioters now.

___HERO___ 1 point ago +1 / -0

Agreed. Don't need pro sports - they are riddled with consumerist degeneracy - alcoholism, sex, wastefulness, mind numbing compliance, etc.

Go compete yourself; improve your body and mind. Maybe even support a local team... But please see pro sports for what they are - commie faggot adults playing with a ball.

0
trumpsallright 0 points ago +3 / -3

Pro yes, but there are a lot of people that need sports in college. It has helped a lot of people, even one that don't go on to pro, sports is still a big factor for their lives, we cannot refute that. Lets just hope they play and not do political shit, leave that to the baby pro's.

10
Mightymouse1111 10 points ago +10 / -0

Thats the ONLY way I will ever turn on a professional sports game again.

9
TheThreeSeashells 9 points ago +9 / -0

Me too. Huge baseball fan here. I'd like to say I haven't watched one pitch, but I accidentally turned on a game I ordinarily wouldn't have care about anyway. I only had it on for about five seconds, but it was long enough to notice they put masks on the cardboard cutouts they placed in the stands that are supposed to fool us into thinking there are actually people there. They can go fuck themselves.

A simple solution: Let the schools that want to play, play. And let the schools that want to opt out, opt out. You'll have about 50 schools play 10 games in a round robin format and for the first time ever, a non power school like UCF can get a fair shake to make the playoff.

12
Art-Vandelay41 12 points ago +12 / -0

Looks like the winner of the SEC will just be the National Champ lol

2
dataonly 2 points ago +3 / -1

That will be case whether or not all teams played.

1
TheStoneOfSisyphus 1 point ago +5 / -4

As a UCF fan, I just want to play those SOB Florida Gators and hopefully do so with McKenzie Milton back and healthy. Those SOB's not only tried to block UCF's medical school from being built, they have also been ducking the Knights for years.

8
dataonly 8 points ago +8 / -0

While all of that may be true, UCF is not competing w/ Florida.

Furthermore, UCF would not withstand the rigors of an SEC schedule.

-3
TheStoneOfSisyphus -3 points ago +2 / -5

Put UCF in the SEC and give them an SEC budget, SEC facilities, and SEC recruiting, etc... and they'd win 8-9 games a year. Easily. That is why Florida keeps up with their cheap shit with them. Hell, if UCF were in the ACC right now they'd be the 2nd best team in the league behind Clemson.

1
dataonly 1 point ago +3 / -2

Yeah but it does not work that way. Teams in the SEC have huge alumni contributions. Those facilities are generally paid or partially paid by foundations setup to support those teams. It takes a large and generous alumni base to hire that level of coach, and build those facilities. If being a MAJOR program were easy every team would do it.

You may not be aware of this but most programs are a drain on the Universities' budgets. In a few universities Football and Men's basketball are profitable. But its only a few. In a rare case such as LSU Men's baseball is profitable.

Programs like LSU, Mich, OSU, Bama, Auburn, Florida, Notre Dame are few and far between. Football actually contributes to the University's academic side.

So NO, UCF will not become a major program. If you don't believe me look up UCF's financial info. Its a public institution so should be easy to find.

Why do you think mid majors play majors in non conference games? Its not to win. Its to get paid.

-3
TheStoneOfSisyphus -3 points ago +2 / -5

Well now, aren't you a daisy ?

1
dataonly 1 point ago +3 / -2

No idea what that means.

I'm simply laying out financial facts related to college sports.

I'm not down on UCF. I love it when they are good. And when they play Florida, I'll root for them. In fact, I loved it when Boise beat Oklahoma.

But the facts are a mid major would have to catch lightning in a bottle to play w/ the teams that are contenders year in and year out. It could happen but its unlikely.

Just look at the recruiting. Check the teams that are nationally ranked every year in recruiting. If a team is not consistently ranked high on that list its very unlikely that team will contend for a title.

In the state of Florida there are two flagship universities. Those universities will always be the highest priority. Its that way in every state.

5
dataonly 5 points ago +8 / -3

Hmm.

Regardless of who plays, its going to come down to LSU, Bama, OSU, and Clemson.

Oh and BTW, the guy taking Joe Burrow's place at LSU will be a star. Not saying he will eclipse what Joe did, but LSU will be fine w/ Brennan. Let's face it Joey B simply put together the best year in the history of college football.

3
doug2 3 points ago +4 / -1

I used to know what this meant, now I skim over it like you're talking about dungeons and dragons or some shit. It is no longer of any interest to me and I just realized that. I used to live for my hometown teams lol. Now, well now, I could not care less.

-2
TheStoneOfSisyphus -2 points ago +2 / -4

I love how UCF gave LSU and Joe Burrow a far better game with an 18 year freshman QB than the rest of the SEC, Clemson, and Oklahoma.

2
dataonly 2 points ago +4 / -2

Whatever. Comparing UCF to LSU is like comparing a Cessna 172 to a C-5 Galaxy.

Those are airplanes BTW.

But perhaps UCF added to the incentive to overhaul the offense at LSU which yielded the greatest team and season in College Football History.

-1
TheStoneOfSisyphus -1 points ago +3 / -4

Nice guy.

1
dataonly 1 point ago +3 / -2

Sorry dude. Look I hope when and if they play UCF has a great year. If you guys are playing Florida, I'll be rooting for UCF!

3
OutcastSeal 3 points ago +3 / -0

A simple solution: Turn sports off. I do not support college sports since they all aspire to join NFL, NBA, and all those racist organizations. Not to mention, college is where they are learning to hate America

2

Will be listening later, give Clay some love he's a TN boy and a voice of reason for the corona bullshit

7
F_D_Romanowski 7 points ago +7 / -0

I haven't listened to Clay Travis in months but he seems to be one of the very few sports commentators who wasn't a knee bending spineless fuck going along with the social justice bullshit.

6
America_Jer 6 points ago +6 / -0

Clay and his partner Jason Whitlock

5

I remember when he used to be on the ZONE in Nashville every day. I liked him a lot and was bummed when he left.

16

Don't care if they come back. Won't watch them anyways. Professional sports are dead to me and I wish them all bankrupt and unemployed.

Also fuck the players and managers personally.

All of a sudden it makes a lot of sense why the reddit college football sub hates Clay Travis so much

Started listening randomly back in March when my local show went full coronabro. His sports opinions are often over the top and have too much focus on gambling (yawn), but I’ve found his opinions on bat flu with respect to sports to be some of the only reasonable shit out there.

10
chahn1138 10 points ago +10 / -0

If sports returns it will be local and personal.

More fun really.

Not too much "Nasty Ass Anything".

2
WeinerLapTop 2 points ago +4 / -2

College football MUST happen

2
OutcastSeal 2 points ago +3 / -1

No, it must not. You think they dont aspire to join racist organizations like the NFL? Put your country first, man. What are you thinking.

2
TheThreeSeashells 2 points ago +2 / -0

...with fans. As we've learned, sports without fans in attendance is nowhere near the same. This is especially so for college sports where the fans are generally a lot more vocal. Piped in fan noise doesn't work and will flop spectacularly in college sports.

8
RivalPipe [S] 8 points ago +9 / -1

Give Danny G a raise already!

Also, this has set the bar for what a good interview and a respectful interaction with our President would look like.

7
thingaboutarsenal 7 points ago +7 / -0

Pretty sad that alternative sports media are doing the job more professionally. Refreshing to hear a journalist not using gotcha questions or saying "that's not true". Fucking enemy of the people.

3
Seanp12 3 points ago +4 / -1

Outkick is actually pretty mainstream. Probably the most mainstream that any friendly outlet is right now.

2
thingaboutarsenal 2 points ago +2 / -0

I was thinking more like SJWSPN.

2
TheThreeSeashells 2 points ago +2 / -0

Not surprising that sports media would follow the precedent set by "news" media.

4
WeinerLapTop 4 points ago +4 / -0

It was truly an impressive interview. One of the best 20 minutes of content GEOTUS has been allowed to give in a LONG time.

5
RivalPipe [S] 5 points ago +5 / -0

I thought so too. The Host knew when the President was joking and didn't intentionally take him literally. Example, the body fat % joke. Our GEOTUS shows his self-deprecating humor with all this pressure and negativity going on.

Not rattled at all.

8
CentipedeDemon 8 points ago +8 / -0

Fuck pro sports. They've made it clear that white people are second class citizens to them, so let their ratings plummet.

8
WeinerLapTop 8 points ago +8 / -0

What an amazing interview! so many good one liners. Ripped LeBron, ripped the NBA, ripped into China, implied biden had dementia. I needed that.

Trump is so fucking good at just talking. Maybe the best. Many people are saying it.

4
WeinerLapTop 4 points ago +4 / -0

Guys, he called it the China plague. The plague.

8
SowellBrotha 8 points ago +8 / -0

Clay Travis may be the only sports talk guy thats actually worth a damn

4
America_Jer 4 points ago +4 / -0

Jason Whitlock, who's also part of Outkick now.

8
SilverBackTrump 8 points ago +8 / -0

If you aren’t already reading outkick you should be. clay is great as usual but Whitlock has been been destroying the BLM hoax in sports on the daily.

5
YuriBezmenov 5 points ago +5 / -0

I'll never watch US major baseball/football again. Didn't watch basketball before because I have self-respect (joking, basketball fans, it's just not for me).

The interesting thing about Travis is that he's not even conservative.

If you look into his past, he interned or worked very early in his career on Al Gore's presidential campaign. Because the rest of society and mainstream media have sharply plummeted left, traditional liberal guys like Travis (or Dave Rubin) appear conservative in comparison. I'm pretty confident in saying he's not a big Trump supporter.

I'm a fan of Travis, and read his columns / opinions. I don't always agree with him, but that's cool, I don't always agree with anyone. I like how he explains the logic in his arguments. I may not agree with his assumptions and conclusions, but shit, at least he tries logic. Trying is more than you can say for 98% of mainstream media these days.

4

Nice to hear an interview with DJT that's not filled with "gotcha's" and attempted ambushes. Much like Portnoy's interview at the White House a few weeks back.

No interest in any of these pro-terrorist dipshit organisations. They can drown in debt and dissolve for all I care. Good riddance, maybe without them, people will start paying attention to something more important, say, communist takeover?

College football and the NFL are going to really suffer, not because of covid but because they have alienated half their fan base. We literally have a fuckin Canadian jig on Oklahoma State's football team threatening to boycott because coach wore a shirt that had OANN on it. They are even starting to demand half of gate receipts. On the pro side, they are fuckin toast. 2 years from now the best players will be signing 5 year 2 million dollar salaries.
