And as a reminder. If terrible things happen that are no fault of your own. God still exists and loves you. I was doing the same (minus the losing weight I've never been heavy). And then I got badly injured at work during this lockdown bullshit. The past six months have been a total nightmare but I still have my faith.

LOL!

Not eating like a pig helps

I too lost 75 since 2016 (well, 65 now, I did gain 10 back)... and it's amazing how "not eating like a pig" is the most effective way to lose weight.

I tell people that it is no secret, and all it takes is:

  1. Diet
  2. Exercise
  3. Eat to live, don't live to eat.

.......... and the real kicker is that people who actually WANT to lose weight can do it easily. The hardest part is actually wanting to lose the weight. My dad used to want to quit drinking and smoking, but he never actually wanted to, so he never did. He also died in his mid-60s.

Some things I found out about losing all this weight:

  1. The peepee is much larger. It's true.
  2. The extra skin is somewhat of a reminder of me being a big guy. I'm OK with it.
  3. I'm very comfortable without my shirt on now.
  4. I used to hate running, and doing 3 miles was impossible and sucked real bad. After losing weight, 3 was still tough, but one day I did 6. It wasn't harder, just took longer... Now, I run a yearly marathon.... because I can.

Nice job losing the weight.

Kicking the booze helps as well. Stopped a month ago, right before my daughter was born(1.5 weeks), well worth. My man tits are shrinking, I'm saving money and I feel and sleep better.

Portion control is a real problem after you lose that weight. I regularly do Keto-diets to lose weight, then take breaks before returning to it. I find that for desserts cutting my portion in half and putting it on a small plate really does work like a trick. I resisted doing this FOR YEARS but started doing it lately and its basically as satisfying mentally.

The other big help is weighing yourself EVERY SINGLE MORNING. This really helps keep you accountable.

And about gaining some weight back, be sure to use a measuring tape for around your belly and any other areas. I gained back 7 pounds in 5-days but none of it went back to my belly (I had measured before/after). Really helps with the encouragement.

If you guys wanna lose some weight but like eating... Try the Keto Diet. Especially if you can do it WITH intermittent Fasting. Lost 30 pounds in 2 months. 👌

Keto is quick and effective, but can be harder on older pedes. The diet isn't cheap. I have found the the ADA (American Diabetic Association) diet guidelines to be the healthiest by far. Control the carbs, watch food groups and control food portions. The weight won't come off as fast, but you will have a bigger chance of keeping the weight off.

I too lost 80lbs and am now in a relationship with someone who for some reason adores me. It’s fucking great isn’t it? My next step is getting some ABS and financial freedom. The weight loss and health improvements totally change your mindset.

who for some reason adores me

People who love themselves are easier to love

Healthy people attract healthy people. Healthy spiritually, mentally, physically.

This is where MAGA starts. If Each person makes their life better we all get better.

Me in 2014 - pothead, cigarette smoker, severely depressed, contemplating suicide, minimum wage job, always broke from spending all my money on weed and cigs

Me in 2020 - no more illegal drugs, quit smoking, better paying job, making more money than ever, saving money while also pursuing hobbies that I'm passionate about and give me a sense of fulfillment that drugs never could

Thanks. Yeah, it worsens depression in some people and is a big waste of money in general. It does have proven medical benefits for certain conditions though so if it helps you then I'm not against it.
