The article is about some affirmative action PhD student at Harvard. He calls himself a former mathematician. Anybody want to guess why he is a "former" and not "current" mathematician ?

Damn yo. Harvard be havin some jive ass mofo mafema-tishon-omics an shit.

Kareem Carr, a biostatistics Ph.D. student at Harvard University, says that sharing his ideas about numbers and abstraction to a large audience on Twitter helps him find others who think differently and are excited about connecting theory to reality.

➗ You love numbers. So do we. Let's nerd out over numbers together.

And while some bad-faith critics have flooded his notifications with unkind assumptions, he’s still happy to put his ideas out there.

This content is imported from Twitter. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site. EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT "2+2=5".

As a former mathematician, I have things to say.

He might have become a great plumber had he gone to a local college,

Due to affirmative action he got enrolled into Harvard where he couldn't keep up.

Embittered, he now has things to say on twitter. Thanks, systemic racism!

Yup, you nailed it. What kind of a goddamned biostatistician is this clown ever going to be if he is a FORMER mathematician ?

Statistics is a branch of math. If you are not good at math, you cannot be a statistician.

Clearly, he is looking to leverage his fancy fake degree into some kind of job in some Office of Diversity and Inclusion at Google or Facebook.

Article is basically a windbag version of this:

"There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics"

The Republicans were a party of freedom under President Bush, that hasn't changed.

Bullshit wars? Weapons of Mass Destruction consists of either biological, chemical, or radiological agents. Sarin, mustard, and blister agents have been discovered in Iraq post invasion... After their use against our troops via IED. So yes, Iraq had WMD.

The invasion wasn't just about WMD. Had we not gone into Iraq, Afghanistan would've been much more bloody for us than what it actually had been. We HAD to invade both countries on the account of their symmetrical threat against us.

Our enemy is no boogyman, and is not restricted to one man, or one terrorist organization. It consists of "visible" and "invisible" parts. Al-Qaeda, Bin Laden, the Taliban, etc., were just pieces of the same puzzle. This included Iraq under Saddam.

You have one man wanting to take his terror acts straight into the US. You have another one who had no intention of carrying out his agreement to the cease fire.

Yes, what we had going on with Iraq, pre invasion, was a cease fire. A cease fire does not create permanent peace, but is a suspension of war. Any side could resume combat operations when one side fails to carry out its part of the cease fire agreement.

When you have one man refusing to come clean with what he had, WMD/WMD program wise, and another with dreams of causing mass casualties on US soil over a long period, we have the equivalent of being in a room full of easily flammable liquids... With a man playing with matches.

We HAD to invade Iraq. This caused something else to happen... What should've been a massive insurgency movement from the Middle East, and the world, to Afghanistan ended up becoming a massive movement to Iraq. Afghanistan was relatively quite compared to Iraq until the terrorists realized that they had no chance of succeeding in Iraq.

Our invasion of Iraq put the terrorists on defensive and derailed their plans of having the US under regular terrorist attacks.

No, we're not fighting an imaginary enemy, but one that actually exists and who is carrying out a manifest destiny that involves spreading their brand of Islam throughout the whole world.

Instead, our invasion of Afghanistan AND Iraq set off a chain reaction that would eventually lead to the Arab Spring. Had the US government been fully engaged in that process right now, North Africa and much of the Middle East would have been making progress towards democracy.

This is similar to what happened with Central America. Back in the 1980s, if you would've told someone that Americans are retiring in that area, and not just a few of them, you would've been laughed out of the room. Our intervention there worked and we managed to get those countries on the path to democracy.

The fact that we invaded both countries, and set the conditions in place to improve our long term/strategic security, made a vote for President Trump practical. However, without our taking that important and necessary geostrategic action, a vote for President Trump would just have delayed the undesirable outcome.

The cold hard reality is that we're locked in a strategic "fight to the death" with a radical element that wants to keep fighting until the whole world is united under the banner of Islam. Either we prevail over them, or they prevail over us. There's no third or other option.

Flat-earth lunacy with a dash of wokeness and racial hatred.

If a mathematics professor complains that 2+2=4 smells of the white male patriarchy, then that means she is retarded. No more, no less. It isnt a discovery, a new finding, a revelation. It means she's a crazy person. And others are urging her on out of morbid amusement probably.. like a crowd yelling jump at a guy on a buildings roof.

Don't take any direction from fucked up people illiterate in the field they have degrees in. See also the gender professors that dont know what gender is.

How is this even a discussion? And why are the people bringing it up being given a forum. Oh yeah social media. The complete down fall of society. Morons that never would have had a platform to speak can now reach millions.
