We have the ability to unshred stuff by feeding it through scanners and having it pieced back together.
Burning it is more effective but you should shred it first otherwise (like a book) some pages caught in the middle could evade the flames.
for good measure you should pour water over the ashes and rake them into the ground, have a load of dirt brought in and plant a tree over the spot. Then light the tree on fire and feed whatever is left through a wood chipper.
Too much work. I would say they use their gutter oil or gasoline and put the docks in it with a hole in the ground so they can put the dirt over it as it still burns.
