Equality is concerned with providing everyone with equal resources to be successful and letting the chips fall where they may based on individual choices.

Equity is concerned with providing equal outcomes and is willing to provide unequal resources to achieve the desired outcomes.

To me, the shift towards centering equity as the intended goal of society is just another gradual move towards adopting marxist philosophy, i.e. “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.”

It seems to me that those on the left, more and more, want to adopt all the tenets of communism piecemeal while gaslighting any critics that point out that this is what they are doing.
