Yeah there's solid research on it and it's counterintuitive: it's not brain activity but physical activity that keeps your mind sharp as you age. Our brains use shitload of oxygen so healthy cardiovascular system slows aging - otherwise you end up like Biden, wondering who Democrats will nominate for their presidential candidate and hoping that he will defeat Eisenhower.
I was diagnosed with ocd, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. I fixed my diet, started strength training, and after 6 months of consistency my ocd and anxiety symtoms pretty much vanished, and my month long manic/depressive episodes went from controling my life to being a mild inconvenience. Exercise SHOULD BE THE FIRST PRESCRIPTION FOR MENTAL ILLNESS.
