It becomes less about cost and more about logistics. The deterrent is not that these people can't afford the $200,000 to whack the few dozen lawyers; it's that whacking 20 of them in a row without someone screwing up, falling out of place, leaving a troublesome opening, finding a damning link, or making a sticky connection becomes less and less likely.

They may be well insulated, but no one is untouchable. If they put too much risk out there, they will eventually lose something. It may take 5 times, or 10, or 20. Maxwell could very well put them in that position with some good planning. Sadly, she's likely not realizing the danger she's in with her "friends" having no use for her anymore (and her now posing a threat to them).
