Now that Harris has been picked as the nominee, GEOTUS could secure the win by issuing executive action de-scheduling Marijuana.

Rub it in the public's faces how many people of all races have had their lives destroyed by corrupt cops like Kamala Harris over something as innocuous as a plant.

If not executive action, we should take it up as a pet issue and a campaign promise to end prohibition.

If he can get the left to come out against marijuana legalization, that will fracture their base and Trump will pick up a lot of support.

The single biggest problem with marijuana is the apathy and complacency that it brings with it. Weed will not make you crazy and will not make you violent. It will make you apathetic, lazy, complacent, and content with whatever is going on around you. I can see the big push to legalize it. It will make the population more manageable.

Yup. Not much dissent when everyone is too high to care.

fake news! lazy people will always be lazy... doesn't mean we should keep a plant illegal

I agree but it goes far beyond being lazy. Not trying to argue for keeping it illegal. Just sharing what I’ve experienced. I think the plant itself has many more positives than negatives but in a society that is so hell bent on controlling you the apathy alone, especially if multiplied throughout society, takes away from a lot of the positives.

It is up to the individual user to use responsibly

It sounds like an argument made by people who want to keep it illegal

Put down the bong and start living your life.

Some of the most successful people in the world use cannabis on a daily basis.

There's plenty of other legal substances that can achieve the same result as what you described.

Alcohol and Pills for instance.

no one deserves to be locked up for consuming a natural plant

I was once the same as you. Thankfully I noticed my folly and grew out of it. Do what you want. I’m not here to say right or wrong. As with anything moderation and control are key. Something not many are capable of. As good as I thought I was with it, I found a higher level of being without it. I know you and many others will keep on justifying it regardless so I will leave you with some seasoned advice. If you must do it, keep it to once a week or it will diminish you and rob you of your potential. Respect your body and mind and they will compliment the soul within. Disrespect them and they will work against you.

I smoked weed every day for far, far too long. A total waste of time and life. When you're constantly flooding your skull with dopamine, you will miss out on life.

You'll never fall in love and feel that feeling. You'll never create anything of lasting value. You watch as years go by and nothing happens. Nothing changes.

When I quit weed my life did a 180. Got married, now have a family and a life. I tried to smoke a few months ago for the first time in years and got all anxious and uncomfortable. That's a sign from your brain that you have more to offer than this.

Similar experience. Thanks for sharing.

you're not wrong but how would you even know that if you hadn't saw both sides to begin with?

Look at europes and most of the worlds drinking ages and culture.... then look at Americas. It's a cultural thing and forcing kids to hide their weed and booze just forces them to do so unsafely or wait until they're old and should be done learning they are better off without it, or at least practice moderation.

everything in moderation. Even exercise becomes detrimental at some point.

My dude, I agree with you. Just sharing what I’ve learned after a lifetime of use. If you ain’t sharing, you ain’t caring. Take that from whatever angle you see fit.

On a group level that just isn't the case. We have good evidence that weed causes motivation and memory issues, sometimes permanent across a population that uses it. Some people still succeed despite it, just like some people can succeed while being habitual cocaine users.

It's still something that isn't completely harmless and needs to be look at honestly.

Do you think the marijuana that you smoke is the same thing as the marijuana plant that naturally developed?

Marijuana had been selectively bred for literally thousands of years to become what it is now.

Marijuana today isn’t really any more natural than heroin or cocaine.

You can make this argument with almost every vegetable and fruit and grain you can name.

Some of the most successful people in the world use cannabis on a daily basis.

This is absolute bullshit. Unless you're talking about some jogger rapper. People who smoke weed every day are not productive. They never do anything that lasts.

The choice is yours. Smoke weed every day and believe that "one day" you're going to be super successful like all the other super successful pot heads, or put down the bong for a while and actually start accomplishing shit.

I agree with you and quit smoking for that reason, but weed is already easily available to those who want it. The only thing legalization will change is defunding criminals, increasing tax revenue, and ending all the money and lives we waste locking people up for possession.

4
RandoMando2A 4 points ago +4 / -0

And I agree with you. There are far more reasons to legalize it than not. Was just mentioning what I feel is the big push for legalization is. I think the plant itself is a resource for many things and people should be able to use it as they want but there are consequences to everything. Just pointing out what those consequences were for me.

so we will continue to enforce freedom infringing laws based on the lowest common denominators?

How is alcohol any different? I have the life experience and responsible use of that to know i should only indulge once and awhile and not to over do it because it's terrible for me.

People will get off work and have 1-3 drinks every night, throw on the tv, and waste away their life.

We could do that right now, weed can do that to. But i won't do either ever. But i'd like to have the option because America fuck "you" (not you) haha.
