Typical Republican letdown, Two Democrats running against each other and no Republican ran so now she wins now by default.

Yes, very disappointing. I guess they figure that they’d have no chance in the general election in that area.

Well, we don't actually know that. Maybe the riots, the shooting, burning down a Wendys by Antifa and media caught blatantly lying, has changed some minds.

I am not asking Republican party to spend funds campaigning. But put a guy on the ticket at least to get one unbiased poll on the area.

Districts can't flip or ever change otherwise and to abandon ground entirely like this is a long term losing strategy.

OGpsywar 80 points ago +83 / -3

No Republican was going to win Fulton County DA. You might has well complain that Portland isn't mayored by Alex Jones.

Now if the Republicans did what the Democrat candidates do in Red suburbs .. never admit their party affiliation / steal their opponent's talking points and just flatly lie about their stance on the issues .. then they'd have a chance.

Do This!

(btw, the linked article incidentally mentions so many types of leftist institutionalized corruption that it can't be lost as a cit. Archive: http://archive.is/SPw1q )

Lifelong GA resident here. Fulton, Dekalb, Gwinnet and Cobb are all hardcore government sucking, no whites allowed democrat strongholds. It would take a mass population exodus or another Sherman to force us to start from scratch to get a GOP person elected there.

10
Meddlesom 10 points ago +10 / -0

Or just do what democrats did in 2018... run as republicans in deep red districts and then straight up come out and switch parties after winning. That shit should be illegal, those women should be tarred and feathered and put in a pillory in town square.

If Trump's Rasmussen (?) numbers with blacks are to be believed, a GOP candidate running on law and order in a city like Atlanta might have a shot. They could at least start opening some doors.

Further, Atlanta is getting rapidly "gentrified." In John Lewis' district, I keep seeing Whites move right in buying new houses.

6
AlohaSnackbar 6 points ago +6 / -0

It doesn't matter if the numbers are legit. At MOST, 10% will vote Trump. And that's on his best day, with the best of luck, and an actual leprechaun in his pocket.

Sadly the number 1 issue for blacks in America isn't education, safety, wages, employment, war, crime, abortion, free speech, or gun rights. It's the color of their skin. There is literally nothing else on tap. Archive this, and when Trump wins reelection (he will), the percentage of black voters will be 10.0 or less.

13
Moriartis 13 points ago +13 / -0

to abandon ground entirely like this is a long term losing strategy.

I mean this is how liberty always dies. Liberty loving people don't like to force people and hence when an area becomes too authoritarian, they're inclined to leave rather than force the people in that region to give up their gibs.

Problem is, God isn't making any more land. Like that Reagan quote, there's nowhere else to fuck off to and make a new free country. Liberty will either die the death of a thousand cuts or liberty loving people will have to embrace some authoritarian measures to make areas less hostile to liberty.

Personally I don't see it happening, but I'm black-pilled.

We should have 100% outreach in every section of the country with personalized messaging that resonates to that exact community. This doesn't take a lot of capital it takes a willing person and some smart top down marketing teams. This is how they beat us in the first place. Now they use outrage and gaslighting at a national scale and then drive it in hyper-locally, into our own communities.

The DNC has worked tirelessly to create a system where speaking out against them brings a threat of violence. We should work tirelessly to build a system that exposes them for what they are.

Every citizen deserves to hear our message, imho.

You don't need any resources, just put someone in the ticket. It's about making them spend some resources.

If it's unopposed any and all of her funding is now moved over to a close race ticket to beat a gop somewhere.

3

And honestly, DA shouldn't be a partisan position. Democrats love to run for these jobs, but most Republican lawyers are busy doing other stuff.

I've always wondered about this myself. I don't like it when my ballot has only one option on it, regardless of which party it is. In today's day and age, how hard would it be to have a simple template website design that the RNC could use for races like this . . . something they could simply change the name, contact, donation links on, slap some simple standard GOP positions on it, copypaste in a bio. Then it'd just be a matter of finding a candidate to run in those districts.

Rudy Giuliani loosely quoted from his radio show;

Republicans get a foot and they apologize and only take 6 inches.

Democrats get a foot and they cheat and take a mile.

I mean, why take up the mantle? Chicago may have been ran by only Democrat mayors since shortly after Hitler burned the Reichstag, but you best believe the media would spin all of Chicago's problems as being the result of the newly Republican mayor's decisions (assuming a Republican took office). It's not like change could come fast for Chicago with a Republican mayor, and the damage caused by Democrats of the past gives them plenty of ammunition to scapegoat Chicago's faults on Republican leadership.

Sources on dates. See for yourself.

They did that with the previous GOP governor. Bruce Rauner was blamed for everything bad that happened during his term, even if it had been going on for decades, and even though the Dems had veto-proof majorities in both houses in Springfield due to gerrymandering. And then Rauner stabbed the Illinois GOP in the back by passing pro-abortion legislation. After that, he had zero support from anyone in the state, and lost to the current governor, J.B. "Rubberstamp" Pritzker, who signs whatever the Chicago Machine puts on his desk.

The GOP does this all the time. Democrats don't. Even in districts they have no chance in, they almost always run someone - the DNC never yields an election unfought if they can help it. Local government is so important, and the GOP just gives up in tons of elections... It's one of the reasons some areas have gone so shit, and also a reason why Soros has been so successful in getting his tentacles into so many key positions in local governments.

22
IncredibleMrE1 22 points ago +22 / -0

This is exactly how the Virginia legislature flipped blue. The GOP didn't even bother running a candidate in 15 out of the 40 state senate races, and the Democrats STILL only won a 21-19 majority.

And one of the Dems who ran unopposed has a CP conviction. The GOP could have run literally anyone in that race, and they would have the majority right now.

Now, VA is banning guns.

12
FreedomCrayon 12 points ago +12 / -0

some people in this thread are talking about us putting resources in places where we are sure of victory. How does the GOP or conservatives aim to increase their influence when they don't want to compete to win?

Democrats run people in places where they are unfavored. The GOP has to stop being so defeatist.

4

i'm from Fulton County and can confirm. The southern part of the country is downtown ATL and insanely blue. North part is red, but is heavily outvoted by the south (classic gerrymandering - just look at a county map to see how silly it is).

Republicans in the area generally don't run in county elections because they know it's a waste of time and money and instead typically run in smaller community elections and at the state level instead.

4

Why waste political capital in a place its almost impossible to win?

11
Transgirl_4_Trump 11 points ago +11 / -0

Yep! Easy for people here to say "Republicans should always runs someone", but running for office is not free. Even if you use the Biden "Hide in the Basement" strategy, it takes time and money to even get on the ballet.

I know Republicans in Fulton county who have run for office, and in every case they punt on county elections and do community elections or state elections instead. They all figure it's better to let someone else waste their time and nickles on the county elections. It's just the logical choice.

7
TheBroodwich 7 points ago +7 / -0

Republicans who could run also face an opportunity cost problem because they have employable skills, meanwhile running for offices is pretty much the job of many of these Dems.

1
Transgirl_4_Trump 1 point ago +1 / -0

True facts. Time spend running for office is time spent not providing for your family. Nothing in life is free.

That said, it's still important that people step up to help lead their community. But if you're going to do that, won't you target the race that you have the best chance of winning so that you can actually make a difference? That's the math going on in people's head.

I don't think so. The last Mayoral election had Mary Norwood running against Bottoms. Norwood was "independant" and was the only Mayoral candidate to not denounce Trump. So, pretty much all the Repubs voted for her. She came within a few hundred voted to winning the election.

4

3
Aisle-is-closed 3 points ago +3 / -0

Living in a city very much like Atlantic as far as demographics (just a lot smaller), you never have Republicans on the ticket, you have Democrat that give you a wink when they go door knocking.

These wink wink Democrats usually have 1 issue (for us it’s 2A) that they try to grab the actual republican votes with, otherwise they are pretty much typical democrats, because there is no other way to win. I can name a few wink wink Democrats on our city council that will not vote on 2A issues, they ruin the city in other ways though.

Best you get in a city.

2

That’s exactly how it was in the Multnomah County (Portland, OR) DA election. Two equally far left candidates, running on essentially identical platforms: conservatives are Nazis, racial pandering, etc. The mayoral candidates were hardly any better. All Democrats, only one of whom wasn’t a far left retard. Obviously, Ted “I stand with the rioters no matter what” Squealer is who we’re still stuck with.

4
DrGEOTUS 4 points ago +4 / -0

How is it a win? The previous guy was corrupt and every one found out. The remaining moderates and undecided voters see this and some take the red pill. His replacement is likely equally corrupt and likely involved on his schemes but now gets to hide behind a veneer of being publicly squeaky clean. So effective is this tactic that even Trump supporters here are calling it a win. Corrupt progressive DAs, are not a win for anyone, ever. Sunlight is the best disinfectant and now they get to go back to hiding in the shadows.

I wonder if she is going to mention Secoriea Turner, the eight year old girl that was shot dead when the car driven by her mother turned onto a street where BLM had set up an illegal barricade. She was shot by a BLM protestor, Julian Conley. Let's see if the Mayor of Atlanta just ignores the corruption of her DA and the murder of an 8 year old girl. I think it's disgusting a Mayor of such a lawless city is speaking at the DNC convention, then again, Biden picked another lawless corrupt DA, Kamala Harris, as his VP.
