TBF some people can't even walk into work without one, so they get a pass. Also, not every Trump-supporting patriot is of the sort to battle authority or start a scene. In every war, not everyone helping to win is able to be a front-line warrior. Some people, it deeply aggrieves to be in conflict that they are generating and are unsure or unequipped to control. Some were beaten as children and made to avoid eye contact, much less arguing. They can't be expected to change their entire makeup overnight. They get to vote Trump and support him in other ways, they're pulling for the team.

I happen to be a big, hairy, mouthy smartass with a science education and a sort of rock 'n' roller's attitude of "Push the boundaries, what's the worst that could happen, anyway?" I'm willing to look any stranger right in the eye and say firmly and without smiling, "Sorry, medically exempt," "Doctors said not to wear it," or "I have a condition."

All true, for anyone. You ARE medically exempt, if your condition is that you follow sensible advice from doctors like the surgeon general and Fauxi, who BOTH very pointedly said not to wear it. But I won't call any Trump supporter any name for still wearing it. It's like the income tax issue: I object and I educate, but I pay. Because I can't be a front-line warrior, one who challenges the IRS to show where any rule or law says that filing a tax return is mandatory (they can't, because no such rule or law exists, but for not paying they can JAIL you—which is not on my list of things that can ever happen) or that those who trade labor for dollars thereby earn taxable "income" (they don't; it was an even exchange, so you didn't come out ahead; paying taxes on it as if it were actual income puts you in the hole).
