Dear Mr. President. I am in an impossible position. Me and my family are huge trump supporters in a very Blue NYC. Four years ago I was laid off from my job and decided to get a more "secure" job with the city of new York. I went from white collar to blue collar. My family and I endured the huge paycut up front knowing that in a few years I would start to earn enough to support my family properly. Just a few months ago I got the promotion I studied very hard for and got a nice raise that enabled us to move out of the Bronx (not a good place to raise a family). I was happy for a short while knowing I now have a secure job and excellent pay and benefits. My kids now live near grass and trees instead of concrete and druggies. Just now my boss admitted that due to the Mayor's bad budgeting and CV, I will at minimum get demoted and possibly even laid off come October. I am currently sitting in my car crying because I cannot go inside and face my wife right now to give her the news. My feelings are torn. On one hand I don't want you to bail out badly run Blue cities and states. But on the flip side, if you don't my life is over. I have a newborn and we just started going to church again because we felt we had been so blessed this year despite everything going on. I'm not sure what I'm asking for or even why I'm posting this here, I just wanted someone to listen.

Thank you Mr. President and please keep doing what you are doing.

As hard as this sounds just know that i have been there and done that i was born and raised in northern NY but left there for work back in the 80'sand moved south well i made good money down south but my father was dying of cancer an moved back to NY TO SPEND time with him i then realized why i left because up north the companie and factoris think that people are a dime a dozen. I took a 30000 dollar pay cut to work up there but i got to spend time with my father. Needles to say after he passed i headed back south to double the money and to be honest more respect.
Belive me get out now and go to a red state with no state tax. And get the respect and the money you deserve.

Hey NYC buddy, we hear ya. I would suggest you tell your wife, tell you family. It may be hard today, but faith that your family supports you and everyone here supports you. Good will come from this and everything that happens happens for a reason.

Maybe you can transfer federal job to federal job to a slightly different place in the country. usajobs.gov and look for similar opportunities elsewhere. You don't have to move to the other side of the US, could be close but elsewhere.

This is the situation for MANY right now with furloughs and periodic layoffs. Job loss is not the only issue at hand. The additional payout with unemployment benefits can make this a manageable situation that you can eek your way through. Unemployment only is a joke.

Look man, a few things.

1- Your family is number 1. Do whats best for them. The city has no loyalty for you, so you shouldn’t for it.

2- Moving is hard, but you are better off getting out of a city that has a worse chance than the titanic.

3- I am not religious, but I dont think you should only go when things are good. If you have faith, go when things are good and bad.

Sorry pede, but do whats best for your family.

Damn. I have nothing else to say but good luck. I would think there's no reason not to start looking for a new job in private or other public sector--perhaps another local government?
