Watching Tim transform over the last year has been my favorite thing of 2020

96
CisSiberianOrchestra 96 points ago +96 / -0

It's been even more remarkable watching Tim's friend and co-host Adam. He went from being a vegan liberal hippie to a MAGA beanie-wearing centipede who can't stop talking about how great Trump is.

Bramble 71 points ago +71 / -0

It's amazing what happens when you pay attention to reality.

He's still a vegan hippy, but now he's OUR vegan hippy.

It's not that surprising really. Without the propaganda war against Trump we'd be seeing 80% support because he's not really conservative. He's pragmatic populist.

What are the issues? What can be solved by government? How can we guarantee rights and balance them against safety?

That's basically been his presidency. Illegals are a problem? Speed up deportation and build a wall, refuse those abusing the refugee system. Middle class is struggling? Give them a huge tax cut, lower the self employment taxes, slash regulation. Pandemic happening? Shut the border, governors do your fucking job for the first time in half a century.

Issue - > Solutions

There hasn't really been any morality governance from his administration which is what REALLY turned me off Republicans in the past, especially because most of them were fucking hypocrites in addition to wanting to control my life.

All issues that stopped me from supporting the right disappeared (except maybe their weird hang ups about porn) whilst the left wants to measure my melanin during a job interview and if my son ever wears his mother's dress they'll cut his dick off and take him away if I try to stop it.

The choice wasn't hard. Fuck the left. They are all racist insane commies.

Awesome post

Trump is a new breed of conservative. Kind of a libertarian mixed with conservative

Trumps pragmatism has been a huge red pill on its own for me. I don’t think it’s been something seen for many many generations. If the left have a halfway decent idea, he’ll just take it and absorb it into his platform

It’s amazing to watch. They hate him so much, they’ve just let him (and his pragmatism) take the entire reasonable center.

For so long “populist” was considered a slur in political circles. Why? I’m not sure... because from my perspective it looks like Trump has just revealed decades of politicians as useless parasites who’s only job is siphoning off your hard earned money so they can spend it on useless shit, like their own pockets or give it to someone else.

Sure, the right did and does have its fair share of pearl clutching types who should just chill and let people do what they want as long as it doesn’t impact others

BUT the left has turned it into a foundation for their political beliefs these days.

If the left have a halfway decent idea, he’ll just take it and absorb it into his platform

The Left: "We want $600 unemployment and a trillion dollars for our cities!"

Trump: "How about an executive order for $400 dollars and no money for your cities."

4
BobsNoCommie 4 points ago +4 / -0

For clarity, Trump said if you want 600, the states will have to chip in 200, which was a good compromise as far as I'm concerned.

I've also enjoyed that the conservatives have for the time being dropped the holier than thou art routine.

he has said that he would happily eat meat again, just meat he either raised or hunted himself

he happily admits that it is only the fact that we live in the most privileged timeline ever that allows him the luxury of being a vegan

Yeah, I've been watching them daily now. Love Adam defending trump! Also have love Tim. Finally realize Trump's not that bad!

1
jaaardstyck 1 point ago +1 / -0

That whole crew - Tim, Adam, and Lydia - seem like a good team and great people to know. I hope they're okay, heard there was some drama last night, but I'm gonna guess it was related to the studio move.

N7fury 36 points ago +36 / -0

Tim is a great asset in this fight. I get that the " I don't like Trump but.." talk is annoying; however, he proceeds to defend Trump in virtually all of his content. I think Tim is way more MAGA than he lets on and I'm convinced it is a strategy to target the anti-Trump base. Whether that is effective or not is up for debate.

I think he's done far more than most conservatives turning people away from Biden. His entire channel is a massive redpill. Also, his podcast continues to grow in popularity especially since he's brought on the incredibly based co-host Adam.

26
ChipahTss 26 points ago +26 / -0

I honestly think that him not liking Trump helps. He looks at thing from a very set POV. He bases his opinions on that and doesn't change with what the Dem party does. He is a refreshing moderate.

FACT

6
N7fury 6 points ago +6 / -0

I can agree with that. You could argue he is doing even more than most conservative voices because he reaches a broader scope of voters. Anyone tuning into certain casts like Crowder, Tucker, Rush, etc.. already know what's up.

6
notcalledbilloflefts 6 points ago +6 / -0

Tim is a critical thinker with principles. He reads many different outlets to get unbiased information. When media companies he worked for in the past were trying to force him to publish stories he did not agree with (or were straight up false) he quit.

A lot of people here are talking about how Tim was “red pilled” or “transformed” but the reality is that many of his views do not align with conservative principles and that has not changed. What has changed is the left going off the deep end so fast that you missed it if you blinked. Moderate liberals (and I mean actual moderate liberals) have FAR more in common with Trump than they do the radical left so really it’s no surprise when they start turning red in droves.

5
lmao 5 points ago +5 / -0

well Tim is pro abortion, so I think he would much rather vote democrat if they were acting at least somewhat normal.

For me, abortion murder is already so far gone over the horizon of insanity, it's interesting to see Tim say the same, but about non-abortion things. So they're so far gone over my horizon that even the guy that's beyond my horizon is saying they're even beyond his horizon.

3
crash7863 3 points ago +3 / -0

I think Trump said something on abortion. Like he didn't really care until he had kids and then he was against it.

Abortion has been used to strangle conservatives for years. When we all wanted the wall and less government, the media forced people into 2 boxes, pro or against baby murder. If a conservative says they don't care, the media then explodes on how he's pro baby murder.

4
PartTimeHick 4 points ago +4 / -0

Personally, I think it's extremely effective. We should be taking notes on his show, because that's the way we open a dialogue without turning our country into Syria.

Thanks for posting this, pede. I read the Newsweek opinion piece that Risch wrote, and then the ensuing attacks from other experts that tried to discredit him. The article you linked would indicate that he's not backing down from the people that would silence him. I have a lot of respect for Risch.

Kramer on CNBC today was talking about how justifiable and necessary it is to throw hundreds of millions of dollars at vaccine companies. And all I could think was HCQ is practically free. There are parts of our capitalist system (the deep state parts) that are truly fucked up and this is a glaring example. I truly hope that after Trump wins he can stop this ridiculous charade.

3
crash7863 3 points ago +3 / -0

It's all related to the fact that they keep printing money like that bill is never going to come due.

1
2020magavision 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes, monetary policy (Fed printing) is off the rails. But, this is on the fiscal side (government spending) and Operation Warp Speed was introduced by Trump and, to qoute wikipedia, "Congress has allocated nearly $10 billion for Operation Warp Speed with $6.5 billion designated by Congress for countermeasure development through BARDA, along with $3 billion for NIH research".

I rarely find fault in what GEOTUS does, maybe I'm just a blind sheep, but his genius chess moves are only apparent months (years?) later. I think he has a "reasons" for spending almost 20B on what will probably be useless bullshit. I hope so, because throwing billions into deep state pharma pockets when HCQ could probably wrap up COVID double-quick is really really obnoxious.

5
TuxPseudo 5 points ago +5 / -0

I only started watching his it casts once he started to turn from the dark side.

I never saw the full transformation. I am kind of glad I didn’t and I can just know him as an intelligent person who came to his senses.

He was betrayed. This betrayal is what makes his perspective truly interesting to watch.

I can have always listened to people on our team, who have always been on our team. Tim is one of them who came to his senses. Unlike our hatred of leftists, Tim has a vendetta rooted in betrayal.

Except he still tries to make the argument that the medical community is the authority of your rights.

Hierarchy of values, freedom comes first. It's not up for debate. The opinion of selected medical voices, does not supersede that. There are an infinite number of ways to solve problems, and there is no reason to solve problems with draconian authoritarianism.

4
ShapiroPower 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yeah it has been really cool to watch him learn. Honestly this is the kind of thing we want. Trump has a good base but at the same time we need people who may think differently than us to at least pay attention and see what's going on. If they truly exhibit rational thought, it's just a matter of time before realize Trump is our best option and a good option at that.

1
Pirate_Lafitte 1 point ago +1 / -0

He's absolutely right about the randomized HCQ studies (which are being used to discredit HCQ) being deeply flawed in other ways, specifically the sample. They took a random sample of the population but since the mortality rate is so low for that group, there was almost no variation in the dependent variable to measure. Those studies are fatally flawed. What they should have done was sample from a high risk group and then randomly assign to conditions.
