When Kamala Harris got into Congress, Indian newspapers and media went into a frenzy about how she was the first Indian American woman to get into Congress. American media followed the same suit and propped her up. It was while she ran for President that she suddenly became "black" and her Indian roots was completely forgotten other than her name.
