Thanks for this. As an employee of a big box retailer we can written up or fired if we dont say something about the mask. It's super frustrating for me because I dont want to be wearing this mask either! But they watch the cameras and get after us.

"I am obliged by a directive from management to request that all our shoppers wear masks." if you say it with an eyeroll and the proper lack of enthusiasm, I bet the shopper will get what youre really trying to say.
Yes, I try to be civil to store employees, but if it's just random people, I have to remind myself to ignore them. It helps that if they're making a snide comment under their breath, I usually can't hear them.
I got the feeling some Karen was coming down on the store I usually go in because when I went in, the mood was entirely different and one guy was sanitizing carts like his life depended on it.

Yep lol. they make us sanitize the carts even tho Its just glass cleaner. it's all about "optics " we were told
