On the old T_D they were posting a week before about it. They even managed to create and populate a long thread (that was FULL of people calling out their bullshit).
The day after a few shills said to me "no, it's true, it was promoted here on your own white supremasist T_D, here's a link to the post" I must have deported a half dozen like that, some were high value sleeper accounts.
But that was the day I realized just how planned, and coordinated the whole operation was. Now I am merciless with shills, they are dangerous.
Right on, thanks for your service. I remember lots of pedes saw it for the honey pot that it was and told every conservative to stay far away from it because it was a setup. The organizer is a Democrat even if I recall correctly.
I seriously hope that if there is a "big plan" at play that Trump is running, it includes prosecuting shills for domestic terrorism. I'm okay with trolling, but trolling isn't THAT coordinated and is usually fun with no one actually dying. So I don't want to see trolls gone, but shills definitely. Watch, the shills will respond "hurr hurr so much for free speech" just remember when they wanted whoever would be the next Dem president to put us on TD in prison for "stoichastic terrorism", a word they just learned the same day they typed it out and completely misused it still, because us existing somehow drove a socialist lefty to shoot up a walmart because "but yeah he shot mostly mexicans and we dont hate anybody (except certain groups we want in camps) so therefore its Donalds fault. Show me where it says you can't support Trump and socialism at the same time." which was ironic because "OMG you cant be a socialist like us, because you once supported drumf. We dont want you. We dont need you to win."
My point is that was a coordinated operation. It was big, it was real, people got killed at the event they staged.
There was organisers promoting on social media, including 'planting' fake posts and comments to 'frame' a 'community. This started at least a week ahead of time.
There were organisers who organised 2 groups of people to attend the event. It just takes a core few to get a mob going, believe me. This included buying and distributing identical shirts, and tiki torches, for one group of protesters. The tiki troop were all paid for the night, that was obvious, and they disapeared when it was over.
This really happened, it would cost thousands of dollars, if you just paid about a dozen people for 2 weeks work. There were transportation and advertising costs, equipment costs. This is when I realised this is real, and the trolls were not some kid in his mother's basement. It was a professional team, just like you would see in a movie. But it was not fiction this was real.
Some other trolls we see are advertisers, they are paid to just post and comment to promote a candidate or an idea, but people really have a budget for these things, like Share Blue, or Correct the Record. These are different, Charlottesville was a planned and executed operation, like a military or spying operation.

Those "free speech rallies" were promoted heavily for a long time there. Didn't take a rocket scientist to see what was going on.
