Excuse you. OU football isn't cancelled. Big 12 is still moving forward and students are back on campus. Norman would've crumbled without college students and football to push their economy.
Not that big. Most institutional funding comes from tuition, and rich old ladies who don't know what else to do with the money they've inherited.
If I were a top admin at OU, or any university at this point, my chief concern would be students and potential students realizing how little value the academy is providing for their customers.
Somewhere I recently heard of someone doing an analysis on the situation. Most of the tuition inflation is going towards more administration, people with titles like "officer of diversity" and whatnot. These people make on average $80,000/year. It appears that if we continued to pay these people $80,000/year(on average some less some significantly more!).... If we continue to pay these people just to stay home and stay away from the campus and not go into their office or answer any of their emails or anything. If we paid them to do ACTUAL nothing, WE WOULD SAVE MONEY.
Imagine a world without diversity training. Imagine a world without HR meetings about how a picture of your white baby on facebook is you perpetuating white supremacy. Imagine.... We need to write a song about this...

I was in Norman over the weekend (only place nearby that has a Del Taco!) And I saw two different groups getting people to sign the recall. I wasn't sure what it was about but I assumed it was for the mayor. I am glad they were able to get enough people and keep winning!
It's not just the defund police bullshit. And it's not just the mayor.
The so-woke city council tried to sneak in a "sanctuary city" policy before it got uncovered and shouted down by residents. Most of the city council are adult-aged children. One of them is leaving (thank god) to run for state senate. I actually voted for her because I thought she was on the up-and-up and seemed pretty moderate. Well over the past couple months, she got deliberately arrested at the Tulsa Trump rally and was involved with what's looking like a staged sexual assault for wokeness points.
I signed the petition because all of the above, AND this council royally screwed the pooch on some improvement projects we voted on and paid for. I mean just retarded decisions left and right. So now we have to vote on the same measure AGAIN this month so that we can pay for it twice! I'm fucking done. DO NOT VOTE FOR ANY DEMOCRAT, EVER!!
