I'm disgusted by this too, but, THE LOCALS PUT THESE PEOPLE IN POWER. Until they vote someone else in as mayor and get rid of the partisan DA, nothing is going to change. Cops are going to do what they can do without jeopardizing their going home to their families at the end of every shift. I really can't see sticking your neck out for a city administration that doesn't back you up.

Same as for Portland, Seattle, etc. Either vote at the booth en masse or vote with your feet and get out of the cities that are condoning this crap.
