Can he get the EPA to do something about the fucking gas can spouts, too?

Take cap off. Use funnel.

I just saved you 15 minutes of frustration!

Similarly on the shower/faucet issue you can just remove the flow restrictor. Usually they just pop right out but if not, a drill with a 1/4 inch bit can be used to break up the restrictor.

Or you can drive a screw into it, then grab the screw with pliers and rip it out

meh, it's probably to make showers feel less like power washers. But as always, it should be a choice.

same, or I just take the top off and pour most of it on the lawn mower before getting it in the tank....Also the story of my teenage life...

Get a Surecan gas can. It has a hose on the bottom operated by a valve on the handle, so you don't need to tip the can at all. They are a bit pricey but made in USA

womp_squared 7 points ago +7 / -0

Completely worth the extra cost. I love that thing. 0 mess.

2
ModernKnight 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'll probably be buying a few of these, thanks for the advice!

johnrambo 7 points ago +7 / -0

You gotta get the gas can spouts by ez flow. They are awesome and work like the old gas cans that worked.

3
Hangmhigh 3 points ago +3 / -0

First thing I did when I got a new gas can was take a large drill bit and drill the nozzle out. Now I just pony up and buy nato gas cans. They are bomber with great fast pour spouts.

I believe what you want are called "water can spouts" on amazon. You see the EPA doesn't regulate those, because they go on blue cans, not red cans.

go to any army supply reseller and get one of the military issue gas cans.

4
Mainepure 4 points ago +4 / -0

The newer push button spouts are much better than the spring loaded spouts you had to pull back on to open. God I hated those things

3
Captainzoomer 3 points ago +3 / -0

I always end up spilling gas everywhere when I use those awkward things.

2
DNCwillbeTrumped 2 points ago +2 / -0

YES YES YES! I have had tons of people now come to my yard sales looking for old cans in the morning over the years.

I live 1.5 miles away from a river that discharges 2,102,017 gallons of water PER SECOND. I’ll use as much fucking water to shower as I please. What’s good for the desert Southwest has no bearing on the rest of the country.

I've never actually had problems with low flow toilets in hotels and businesses. Financially it makes sense... I refuse to use low flow showers though

yup, u/Danks_rangers has the quote. There was an entire episode where a toilet manufacturer was on the city board for Arlan and mandated these things, and they point out the irony of them. It'd be better if we had toilets with dual flush modes like some office buidings do. Low flow for the piss, high flow for when you have shits that defy the laws of physics.

No way that will work. Too much common sense.

23

Why should leftists care? From the ones I see, showering doesn't seem to be a priority.

17
nickybops 17 points ago +17 / -0

Because they get off on regulating literally everything. If the governments tentacles aren't touching it, you bet they are trying to figure out a way to touch it. So when someone cuts one of their slimy tentacles off, they react like anyone would when their tentacles are cut off.

SharkTeamTrump 5 points ago +5 / -0

One if the greatest things President Trump has done was to eliminate mountains of government regulations.

Fewer regulations = fewer government employees.

All that low-flow bullshit really fucked us now that we're all washing our hands 10x more a day.. stupid motion sensor sinks NEVER run long enough to get all the soap off.

I work in the trades and these things are a fucking nightmare. The amount of chemicals I have to dump monthly in low flow urinals to eat up the mineral deposits is insane. You know how many times I've had to use those chemicals in regular urinals, never, not even once.

If you install your own flapper you can adjust the flush volume to be whatever you want. It costs literally 3 dollars.

Toto makes a good toilet too (Toto v Kohler). It will flush 24 golf balls in a single flush. A bit pricey though.

4
Abovethefray 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yay Totos! My favorite.

3
ThurstonHowell3rd 3 points ago +3 / -0

I installed Totos in our house over 10 years ago and just last week had to replace the fill valve in one of them as it was getting noisy. That's $25 in maintenance over 10 years, which is damn cheap.

The only bitch I have about the Toto toilets is that their designers are so hellbent on saving water, that they designed the water footprint in the bowl to be smaller than I'd prefer. Gotta keep a toilet brush handy. Maybe their new cyclone flush toilet would make that unnecessary? Other than that, it works pretty well.

1
Abovethefray 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yep. Got the rimless ones, all smooth inside, easy to keep clean By the way, Mr Howell, I want you to know when people play the Ginger vs MaryAnne game, I always ask if Lovey is on the table...

6
TheJJ 6 points ago +6 / -0

Any toilet that has a 1000 gram MAP rating will flush just fine. The main problem with low gallon per flush toilets are when you don't have enough velocity to get the waste to the main. If the toilet doesn't have much gravity to help gain velocity and the slope is 1/8" or worse sometimes 1/16" it can have trouble getting waste to the main. This most likely effects purple haired wales more than other people.

6
anachrotech 6 points ago +6 / -0

American standard Champion 4 is also really good. It doesn’t have the piston but does a great job of it.

3
SharkTeamTrump 3 points ago +3 / -0

I've equipped my house with Sloan pressure assisted toilets 20 years ago.

I still want to get rid of the low-flow standards.

3
PropagandaWizard1984 3 points ago +3 / -0

I would bet good money rich people don't have these low flow devices in their homes. They pay extra to get the good stuff. Like always.
