Can confirm. I'm out in farm country and I hear people target practicing every single day...even rainy days. It's been noticeably more frequent over the last couple years too.
I'm not a big gun guy but even I have several guns and shoot cans a few times a year.
No one even pauses when there's gunshots around here either. Most people don't lock their doors or take their car keys out of the vehicle. A car theft a couple of years ago was front page news in the local rag.
Demographics are changing though. People are moving here because it's safe and beautiful without any concept of why it's still that way today, unlike where they left. First thing they want to do is change something they dislike or want to "improve".
Yeah, it's always funny when we have guests from the city over and a neighbor starts shooting. One if my wife's friends was like 'I dont like that'. I explained why it's a good thing and offered to let her target pract8out back if she wanted...nope lol.
I get it though, I moved here from a neighborhood where I had to hit the floor during nearby gun fights a few times. I just understand that it's not the guns, it's the person using it that can be dangerous
That same friend of my wife has been red pilled recently and is now a major Trump supporter...I bet the next time she comes out she'll take me up on that offer to target practice lol.
I'm a woman and I freaking love hearing my neighbors shooting. Means they're either practicing or shooting at something that may eventually try to attack my animals. I also love seeing people open carrying. Makes me feel safer honestly.

Yep, I dont worry about my neighbors shooting at all. We all shoot from time to time with few exceptions. A couple of my neighbors shoot a couple times a week or more. I hear that and it reminds me just how fucked the city commies are if they ever try to fuck around out here.
