Always baffles me how gay people aren’t furious of the trans shit being attached to their wagon. In my view the movement for gays took place over decades and it was a gradual process. With trannies it fell out of the sky and god forbid you aren’t 110% on board with all the nonsense. Fuck off. Tell me I’m using the wrong pronoun and I’ll gladly use “it”.
I am gay, and I am furious. It is not simply the fact that I do not believe that transgender issues should have a place among gay issues, but also for the fact that the supposed gay movement and issues are nullified by the beliefs being imposed by transgender ideology. I have no idea how someone can square the belief that some people are sexually attracted to their own gender and the belief that anyone can be any gender and that if you refuse to date them, then you're transphobic. I'm a dude that likes dudes. Don't tell me I must date a woman who "identifies" as a man. It is utter bullshit, but what else would one expect in peak clown world?
I also think the toxicity of the trans ideology is quickly destroying the long, and slowly, built tolerance and acceptance of gays and lesbians in our society. It is highly frustrating. Trust me, there are numerous LGB people who do not support T. Like many forceful ideology points of the Marxist left, I think a lot are afraid to speak out against them, feeling a sense of danger. I think some LGB people are also believe that the right "hates gays" and they do not want to be disowned by their leftist friends because then what else is there?
The fact that https://reddit.com/r/LGBdroptheT got banned is revealing... The left does not and probably never did care about gay people. They were just means to an end. And since gay no longer helps them politically they abandoned them and jumped on "the new gay".
I didn't even know there was such a place on Reddit. I mean, I rarely went on there. And now that t_d is gone from it, I do not visit at all.
I agree with your assessment. The Marxist left always exploited various groups for political gain and this is no different. That's why LGBT is grouped together under one umbrella... to create some fake solidarity.
"I also think the toxicity of the trans ideology is quickly destroying the long, and slowly, built tolerance and acceptance of gays and lesbians in our society. "
Yup.. That and every single show has to have very openly non stereotypical gay characters. It too much. 10% last study and they want it as high as 20% of tv characters to be gay. Its too much, and I love you man, but it all makes me wonder if society should have kept you all in the closet.
Much love for my fellow pede. Live life how you want to brother.
The casting and character choices we see in film is representative of their world, not our society at large. Narrative aesthetic degradation in film has been underway for a decade and shows no signs of halting. They're more concerned with having fun and talking about themselves than creating something great.
I've never really cared much about this issue, probably because the only TV shows and movies I ever watch are usually from the 80s and 90s and nothing new, lol, but I'll say that I can understand the desire to see oneself represented in media. I'm not clamoring for representation at all, but if I see a gay character in some thing and it isn't a stereotypical representation, I find it refreshing.
I think we all have some desire to see ourselves in things, perhaps in part to understand ourselves better. But I really do not like simply dropping in gay (or any group) characters just to do it. And I hate this whole trend of taking X thing and making it Y. Like taking the Ghostbusters and making them chicks, for example. I think that goes to your point of degradation of narratives within this medium. It isn't about discovering something about your identity. It's about having the identity present.
It is just another tool for disunity, frankly. You always gotta be on the lookout for how Marxists sow disunity. They want us hating each other. So, to run with my example, then Ghostbusters comes out and it bombs and then some women are like "omg so sexist!!" which make men think "crazy chicks!!" As Americans, we can disagree, but we should be united. The related ideologies to Marxism want us at each others throats, and they exploit moments like these. If you've seen Ghostbusters, you know it didn't suck because they are chicks. It sucked because the script blew and they had a lot to live up to, which they clearly didn't. But no, we can't have that conversation. It's sexism and you're a bad person, so now let's all hate each other.
Sorry, went a little off the rails at the end there, lol, but hopefully my point is clear.
I have a trans (FtM) family member who is 18, she got sucked into it in high school. I always thought she might be a lesbian and that would've changed nothing in our family. Not how we treat her, or love and support her (and future partners) in any way. Unfortunately she went in the trans direction and the way she describes it is that the concept of just being a lesbian is considered offensive to her trans group. Just 10 years ago she would have been considered a masculine(ish) lesbian and that would've been fine, but the way they talk about "butch lesbians" is appalling.
I hope more gay people are like you, and openly critical of this trans movement. The fact that girls and women are being stripped of sport scholarships and opportunities should be scrutinized and rejected. Female scores are being shattered by trans women (born men) because women simply cannot compete with men physically.
I'm a woman and I find nothing wrong with saying that we don't have the same physical attributes, and the separation in sports was necessary for this very reason. It is all infuriating.
I am sorry to hear about your family member. I truly hope she finds peace however it might be... because I know that so many people transition and they're still miserable. And the suicide rate is so high. It is simply sad and concerning, to say the least. I hope she is happy with her decision to transition.
And I appreciate the kind words regarding my post, but frankly I am not openly critical of it. I rarely talk politics in general offline, but I am glad for this board to give me an outlet.
Your story, when you said your family member would have been considered as masculine-ish, reminds me of a moment of time many years back. One of my coworkers who I was a bit close with, and who knew I was gay, was chatting with me. I knew she was a leftist already, so she was telling me how her daughter, who was probably 10 or so, wanted a really masculine haircut. I mean nothing really surprising there in terms of conversation... but then she said to me, "Maybe she might be trans?" And she said it with such a delighted smile. No, not just delighted, but like "awesome, man" smile. Like, she felt so good about it. I was speechless. And literally so. I said nothing. And then the conversation went somewhere else. I wish I had said something. But it was so difficult working in a school when you don't believe this stuff, and I always tried to keep a low profile in that regard.
And yes, I agree with separation in sports. That is just another example of clown world.
Spez: also, I should say, since I was talking about keeping a low profile... I am more fearful to be openly Republican than I am to be openly gay by, like, a lot.
Thanks for your kindness, it's so hard to fight against what you know to be a damaging cultural movement while still loving and protecting the person affected by it. She was celebrated at school (the class president publicly praised her and her bravery), teachers changed her name in class without letting her parents know, and all therapists have affirmed. Not one will go against the grain. This person also has anxiety and depression so I worry about the future IF she changes her mind. We just tell her we're there for her and love her no matter what...but some damaging physical changes might be permanent. It kills me.
Your edit made me think of Dave Rubin's Don't Burn This Book. It has been illuminating to read about his lessons in coming out as a gay man and how that equates to coming out as a conservative!
And let me get right on Facebook and social media to revel in it. Because if it doesn't draw "likes" is it really worth it? Did it really happen? The existential crisis of the modern age..
I found out pretty quick that people on the right get just as pissed off about ecological pollution, they just don't believe in climate change. That actually surprised me because I had made so many assumptions about the right over the years.
It is much harder to persuade someone that they have been misled than to get them to believe a lie in the first place.
Congrats on doing the hard work of asking "Why do I believe what I believe?"
We should never stop asking that question and knowing the answer.
Lemme tell you, as someone who has been a Republican my whole life, I definitely care about the environment. I do not agree with man-made climate change. Climate changes happen, but I'm not convinced we contribute much to it.
And you know what? What does it matter?? I do NOT need climate change as a reason to care about the environment. That's bonkers. We have a beautiful world (and a beautiful country, USA BABY), and we need to take care of it and all of God's creatures. But I am always first-and-foremost a logic driven person... and I want to take care of the environment in a sensible way that does not unnecessarily disrupt other aspects of worldly existence. And, frankly, I want it done according to my values regarding the free market, which has made so much of our world phenomenal. Free market solutions will pay dividends on environmental issues. And we already got a fantastic one until some uber-awesome tech is developed down the line: nuclear. Like, c'mon man!
Green Peace was started by a hippie who wanted to hide his marijuana plants in the forest. Then taken over by the commies. Rush was right 30 yrs ago. Envirnmentalism is the new home of the commie party. If those people were really serious, they would be planting trees instead of traipsing all over the world in private jets, and coming coming down hard on China and India. But oh no, its all my fault, not the sun’s, and if I just pay more taxes the problem will go away.
I remember back in the 90s the dems said R’s want to “poison the water and kill old people.” Like we dont drink the water, too, and have grandparents LOL. So glad you finally figured out their lies and can think for yourself.
Some of us are. You can think what you want. This is America. My personal opinion is the whole trans thing is a mental illness. I was told the other day by another gay guy that it's time for gays to stand up for blm and that Stonewall was a riot. Stonewall was before my time but I don't see how any of that is connected. Personally I don't connect with or understand a lot of the gay culture these days. The whole drag queens reading to kids, the trans movement. I never really understood the whole pride parade thing.either.why would you want to be treated just like everyone else then throw yourself a fucking parade saying look at me, I'm so special.
Woman here, and I feel the same about women's movements. I just want to be a person, go about my day, work, take care of my family etc. I don't need a pussy hat on my head to show I'm equal.
[...] it's time for gays to stand up for blm and that Stonewall was a riot.
Lmao sounds like a product of our educational system. Reminds me of when I used to teach and students would try to prove their argumentative point simply by relating something with something else through a common element (riot in this case).
And I feel you; I can't stand all the LGBT community culture and whatnot. I feel like such an outsider in that regard. I think the parades are utterly ridiculous.
If I was a gay dude I’d be really pissed if a transsexual female to male was trying to get in my pants. Or vice versa if I was a lesbian and then a male to female trans was all like wax my balls bigot!

Trans medical/psych intervention is the progressive version of religious motivated gay conversion therapy.

THANK clap emoji YOU clap emoji
(Because I agree 1000%.)

Same for the women. Super progressive wokeness led to girls/women ages 15-65 coming in 53rd place to a “woman” who is 6’2, 221 and used to be “Kevin.”
If I was a gay dude I’d be really pissed if a transsexual female to male was trying to get in my pants. Or vice versa if I was a lesbian and then a male to female trans was all like wax my balls bigot!
LoL it's all terribly confusing isn't it
