Hope a republican or conservative steps in and sets seattle straight. Or else seattle will burn to ground, and then antifa will move to suburbs.

I say, let it burn a little bit longer. Without consequences, they won't learn.

Do those exist in Seattle? I just assumed anyone that runs for office in the PNW has to suck off a marxist she-dick to be allowed on the ballot

So it only took 5 residents to stand up against the mayor?

Durkan, a Democrat, was called out by five Seattle residents who filed a petition seeking to recall her because of how law enforcement officials have responded to protests this summer, according to The Seattle Times.

They filed, but still had to have signatures. I dunno how many, in some places you need 25% of the voters.

Can Mayors and city council be impeached? What options are there for removing bad politicians that have failed during their term outside of waiting for another election?

Not sure about the council, but Mayors can be impeached by the council. Pretty sure all elected officials are subject to recall.

You must file a petition first, then collect signatures, then turn the petition in to be verified. It's a long drawn out process, sometimes taking months, and is subject to being thrown out if things aren't done exactly right.

The people filing the initial paperwork must be trustworthy. In MI the person who filed the petition against Hitmer rescinded it the day it was supposed to start collecting signatures. Likely the entire operation was a plant to delay any recall attempt in a state that already has a drawn out process.

That's why online petitions are nothing but a scam. Conveniently run by soros organizations.

How do petitions work for WH.gov?

It's not clear what side they are on though. This could easily read "people wanted less police involvement and more rioting"

For anyone assuming she's getting recalled because she enabled Seattle to fall into the hands of Marxists... well, it appears the petitioners think she protected the city too much. One of the petition charges that was allowed through by the judge:

"The charge she allowed to go forward alleges Durkan failed to implement new policing policies after tear gas and other chemical agents were used on protesters in May and June."

If someone can prove me wrong, please do, but it sounds like Mayor Jenny ISN'T LEFT ENOUGH for these morons.

Let it burn.

Wait was she being recalled because of how she let the riots happen or because how she didn't let more rioting happen?

Yes. Lol

It's about time! Get that incompetent moron out of there for good! After allowing the CHAZ to go on for a month where people were shot and died, she deserves jail time as well. The only reason she decided to accept help was because these BLM/ Antifatard communists went to her house! Isn't it interesting that all of the sudden she cared? Lock the bitch up!

She was choking back tears as Carmen Best announced her retirement. She knows losing the black female chief to be replaced by a Latino male interim chief is a death knell for her (Durkan) already mostly-dead position as mayor.

I don't want leaders who cry.

Nor do I want leaders who cackle uncontrollably at inappropriate times. See: HRC and Kamala
