The only difference is that, where as the Soviet Union was mostly a socialist economy, China has an authoritarian, party-dominated, corporatist economy [ie you can have privately owned businesses, as long as you are a member of the communist party {which is the same economic policy as Hitler btw}].
The first order of business is chipping away at Chinese allies. China’s allies include but are not limited to: North Korea, Russia, Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, Belarus, Central American Countries, and possibly Vietnam, Laos, and Philippines.
Luckily we have allies that can help us: India, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and Taiwan.
