Those people shouldn’t even patronize that treasonous shit. Spectator sports (aside from UFC, because they aren’t kneeling asses, at least not yet) should wither on the vine. I would think empty stadiums for athletes would be concerning. A lot of the wealth and importance they get only comes from the illusion that the particular game they play is important. But that illusion isn’t as powerful as they think it is, and at any time, their sport could become one of these bargain basement sports that people don’t really invest in as much, like darts or dodgeball or polo or curling or roller derby. Most of those athletes don’t even make enough to support themselves and work other jobs for most of their money. These athletes should realize if the illusion of relevancy breaks and attendance drops off, even a football player might have to take on a second job. Instead of million dollar contracts and corporate sponsorship, they will just be athletic hobbyists who are weirdly good at this one arbitrary skill of, like, hitting a ball off their head or hitting a flat puck into a net or kicking a pointy ball between two yellow poles.
