My guess is that they're season ticket holders. They probably paid for it already and there's no refunds.

I learned this the hard way. tried cancelling my season tickets for the NHL but no backing out 6 months into the contract. I thought it was August for renewal not February. Still annoyed. Upside I should be able to make a little bit of money next season with the reduced capacity supply goes down hopefully demand stays where it was pre covid
