Nearly every movie or show out of the UK is like that too, no matter what historical time period it's set in, there's always at least a few minorities. Naturally, they're always extra wise and kind and thoughtful, because the left doesn't think POCs are humans with the full range of emotions.
It's amazing the sacrifices people made in building this country. Enduring harsh working conditions, poverty, overcoming vast wilderness to reach the west, and the relative lawlessness that followed in settling it, risking everything to come here in the first place. So much rich history and amazing stories in building this country.
But because black people were slaves for rich people in the south, there's a narrative that black people exclusively built this country.. Fueled southern agriculture maybe, but that's not close to "building this country".
