I love 1911s, but they’re old technology. If you want a .45 that’s actually useful, get a double stacked. If your hands aren’t big enough for double stacked .45, you gotta step down time 9mm.

100% correct. I believe even cops statistically use 6-7 rounds per assailant. 8 is enough for one when well practiced. No more than that.
If SHTF I got plenty of other options. I got the 1911 as a freedom symbol. It also has a .22lr conversion slide for the soft plinks.
My 3d printed glock double stacks work great.
And in .45, id say 8 shots (plus 1) is enough for 4 or so. But personally I plan to stick with my 9mm for carry. The 1911 is heavy AF.
