If instead of looking at people's fake lives on social media, they would look at children starving to death in some african country because their corrupt leaders won't let food in from the west or the child brides and rape victims from islamic countries, maybe they would have a different perspective.
But they won't do that, seeing those things would be traumatic to their identity and they would have to admit that they aren't as big of victims as they thought.
They would have to admit that they have it pretty good in the United States and that maybe, just maybe, the thing holding them back in the land of opportunity is themselves.
