I would say that if I were to leave NY for Florida you would get an additional family in-line with sane values. Unfortunately, my brother, who lives in Arizona, has observed lots of people fleeing into his state from the coasts who then try to bring in the crap which caused them to leave California and NY in the first place. They don't even realize how screwed up they are because of what they are used to from those places.
