I hope it is not a temporary win.

MacArthur is a great preacher of God’s Word.

Very few of them left. It's dismal and sickening how so many churches have rolled over for the Marxist Revolution.

An evangelical pastor I know was teaching BLM and reparations last November, so this was all planned...

21
Paperbagpatriot 21 points ago +21 / -0

I know my church was infiltrated by Marxists and so I'm looking for a new church now.

40
mathman 40 points ago +40 / -0

Want to know a secret? We are the church.

Learn the Bible at home, live the Bible every day, get used to praying at home with no one watching. Then you can show up to a congregation and actually help other people, instead of signalling false righteousness like the Marxists do.

I lost a lot of respect when our preacher pushed the shut down. Thankfully he's since been educated on the scamdemic.

4
Isolated_Patriot 4 points ago +4 / -0

Has he been educated on the original mistake itself? Has he repented of turning from God out of fear?

‘If calamity comes upon us, whether the sword of judgment, or plague or famine, we will stand in your presence before this temple that bears your Name and will cry out to you in our distress, and you will hear us and save us.’

"15 days to slow the spread" was never a valid excuse to close the doors of a church even if it HAD been the black plague. It was a valid excuse to go to church and ask for God's help.

I may be a stubborn fundamentalist, but I couldn't accept any pastor that didn't at the bare minimum apologize and repent profusely for his lack of faith. We all make mistakes, and even Peter denied the Lord three times, but he did repent after the fact.

I tell my kids this constantly. You are the church. Stop looking to others to lead the way for you. Christ is The Way and he is available 24/7 anywhere. Not just in a building on Sunday.

8
Rufus_Shinra 8 points ago +8 / -0

And the modern Catholic church has become hopelessly corrupt at the highest levels, complete with an Obama pope.

3
stjimmy92 3 points ago +3 / -0

modern

Been that way for a much longer time, sadly. We’re just getting longer periods of corrupt popes between the good ones now.

Do it, Its an awesome way to grow into a closer relationship with Christ! At least once a year I go for 4 nights, tent, food, Bible, no electronics. The kids never go on these trips, those family trips are so much better after alone time with God. My preacher recommended it to me several years ago

Home alters used to be a thing here in North America until about 130 years ago. That's one tradition that should come back.

6
DebbieinDallas 6 points ago +6 / -0

You dont need church. Its just you and God, outside in the fresh air, surrounded by nature and all the little miracles around you. The church lost me 50 yrs ago but I am still close to God.

6
jamesgallden 6 points ago +6 / -0

Hebrews 10:25 disagrees with you.

Cacciali_Via 0 points ago +4 / -4

Im curious, when was the last time you took communion, as Jesus himself commanded?

3
Custerslaststand 3 points ago +3 / -0

Do it. There are a lot of great churches and Covid has gotten a lot of them to greatly improve their livestream capabilities (I know my church has). You can stream John MacArthur at Grace Church on Sunday’s. He’s a boss.

That's a beautiful verse in Romans, referring to Elijah of course. He thought he was alone, but God had saved a few thousand other believers for His own purposes.

It's astonishing how there is a different standard for religious faculties and other places like markets, casinos, and others.

9
AlohaSnackbar 9 points ago +9 / -0

Well, that's Jesus's fault. Had he not have gone in and started flipping tables, churches would still have markets, mortgage services, roulette wheels, and gomorrah rooms (how fucked up is it that we don't even know what the gomorrahites did? We KNOW what sodomy is) Churches would still be open .

Yup, all Jesus's fault. /Satire (we need a satire slash like the sarcasm one.)

4
ThePatriotGames2016 4 points ago +4 / -0

lol nice

1
Isolated_Patriot 1 point ago +1 / -0

I believe /s doubles as a satire slash, as very few people even know the difference between irony and sarcasm, most /s sarcastic posts are actually satirical irony in the first place.

1
AlohaSnackbar 1 point ago +1 / -0

You may be right about it representing both, and you are absolutely correct about the misattributation, but I feel like using the /s for anything like I said would have invited criticism. It's weird how we sometimes must not do the right thing because it would be seen as wrong, but that's the world we live in.

As a real world example, think about the horrible abuse parents/doctors are inflicting on so called "trans" kids. In a sane world grabbing the kid and running it to the cops for safety would be heralded as a heroic act. Instead we live in clown world where if we did that demonstrably correct thing, WE'D be tossed in a cell.

Honk, honk.

7
DebbieinDallas 7 points ago +7 / -0

The first thing commies do when they take over is destroy the church (you will now worship the state. Kim Il Un anyone?) and kill off all the old people (so there is no living memory of better times. Grandma Killer Cuomo anyone?)

3
AbrahamLincoln 3 points ago +3 / -0

Casinos pay a fuckton in taxes. The governors gave them a pass real quick.

2

2

There's a reason why Christians are always opposed to leftism, because we don't worship the state/politicians. And we know the heart of men

2

1
rrobalyw 1 point ago +1 / -0

Do you mean CINOs!

1
Isolated_Patriot 1 point ago +1 / -0

The most dangerous part of marxism was in successfully convincing many 'Christians' that the seven deadly sins are actually virtues.

That the greed, avarice and sloth inherent in socialism is just "charity" and Christians are supposed to support charity right? Maybe even get a bit wrathful when other's don't support the forced "charity" by rule of law? And how bout that lust stuff, I mean some people are just born that way and should be tolerated, amiright? And then gluttony, I mean, does anyone even consider that a sin anymore? Seriously, just stuff your face and smoke pot all day while living on welfare, as long as you aren't hurting anyone other than the children, right?

Had that not succeeded, Marxism would have completely failed (as an indoctrination method) and it's roots would have been torn out.

Even the fact that they felt the need to sue, as if the government has any control over how the church chooses to gather. No lawsuit necessary. And certainly no reopening under strict guidelines. Nothing good was accomplished here.

3
Isolated_Patriot 3 points ago +3 / -0

I'm with you guys on this. Even the fact they originally closed the doors when the state told them to was a failure of faith, and I have not seen an ounce of repentance over that. Even their letter about why they aren't listening now made excuses and justifications for why they obeyed the first time (hint: out of fear the government was right and a scary plague was going to kill them all if they didn't stop worshiping God for a few weeks).

Engaging in a lawsuit requires playing by the rules, ie: capitulating to the state. That's why Jesus had a lot to say about the idea of Christians suing people, and it wasn't "just make sure it's for a good cause."

They should have simply ignored the state and allowed the state to bring charges if it was going to happen. Because when the time comes to defend yourself against a charge, God will give you the testimony needed to win.

Luke 21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. 13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony. 14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: 15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

In other words, God will defend you in court when the time comes, if you do nothing to prepare yourself. That doesn't apply when you choose to initiate a lawsuit. That's not even standing ground from a group that capitulated the first time. (In fact there is a damn good chance they will lose the overall lawsuit BECAUSE they capitulated the first time.)

Same for when the government says ‘we want to give you your first amendment rights, but..’. They don’t control the distribution of those rights. Watch the language and wording. It matters.

I cannot stand John MacArthur’s theology BUT I hate the Commies worse! However, he should win this case!

4
ChicagoforTrump 4 points ago +4 / -0

He is a cessationist, basically he doesn’t believe the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit are still available today. This is a lie the globalists have used to destroy the church. But I support him as a fellow brother in Christ and glad he is fighting against the commies.

2
foxbro789 2 points ago +2 / -0

What supernatural gifts are still available today then? Jesus gave his apostles power so that people knew what they said is the real deal.We dont need that in modern times because we have the whole Word already.

1
ChicagoforTrump 1 point ago +1 / -0

What scripture supports that statement?

1
foxbro789 1 point ago +1 / -0

Answer my question first please.

1
ChicagoforTrump 1 point ago +1 / -0

All gifts of the Holy Spirit are available to the church today. Please provide a scripture to the contrary.

1
foxbro789 1 point ago +1 / -0

I dont even need to go that far. Show me one example of someone getting healed instantly by a person. It doesnt happen. My grandpa used to try and guess what, he never got healed.

1
ChicagoforTrump 1 point ago +1 / -0

So to be clear, you can't find a scripture to support your theology, correct? You are basing your theology on your experience.

So should we tear out the many scriptures on healing because your grandpa didn't get healed?
