This feels like a meaningless statistic. Young adults also think it’s cool and hip to be a depressed victim, so naturally they will say they “considered” suicide. It gives them fucked up brownie points. It reminds me of how feminists used to try to push the statistic (maybe they still do) that women ATTEMPT suicide far more than men. What they fail to tell you is that men SUCCEED at suicide far more than women.
I’m not saying suicides among young people aren’t up, because they definitely are. I just hate stats like this.
