Cause I was in my early twenties, and I remember believing it about how we shouldn’t be in war with Iraq, because of all the innocent Iraqi people or something.
Wasn’t the media sympathizing with terrorists back then?

My recollection is that the media was mostly promoting "unity" messages in the aftermath of 911. The media was also covering Afghanistan fairly neutrally, if not positively. When Bush invaded Iraq, the media broke hard against him, employing similar tactics to what we see employed against Trump. It was constant negativity about Bush 24/7, exaggerations, and some flat out lies.
Why were they ok with Afghanistan but not Iraq?
Was Afghanistan a bigger threat to Israel or something?
"Why were they ok with Afghanistan but not Iraq?"
I think that's a fair way to describe the media in general. Yes. Keep in mind, the media back then was largely just the MSM. So, that's what I'm referring to.
"Was Afghanistan a bigger threat to Israel or something?"
Ha. I don't recall discussions about Israeli interests re Afghanistan. Lefty activists, naturally, were claiming it had nothing to do with terrorists, but had to do with oil pipelines. This used to be their go to schlock.
Israeli interests did pop up here and there re Iraq. Some people on the fringes were saying that the invasion of Iraq was a war for Israel. It did not fail the notice of some that a large number of the policy planners at the Pentagon pushing the invasion were Jews and that invading Iraq would have awfully convenient consequences for Israel. But I do not recall any discussion in the MSM about this, of course.
