Being honest here, I dislike this kind of action; arrest the driver and move to the side/impound the car. Slashing the tires and driving off will not prevent him from replacing them later in the night and do it again.
I dont think there are many tow companies that would be willing to bring their truck in there with the company name on the side to tow it out of fear of having their shit burned.
That car is done for the night because there is no way he is getting new tires that time of night. Secondly now you don’t have to waste officers sitting There to protect a tow truck as it enters the riot zone. Thirdly, after watching these assholes go around breaking other peoples property on a nightly basis for three months only to see them released and not charged… It feels good man. Those officers are only human.
On the surface it may seem illogical, but from what I got from the twatter comments, he was using his vehicle to block LE from getting to where they needed to go. Now he is not. LE can come back later and deal with him. Seems efficient way to deal with situation,

If they arrest them its lots of paperwork and the guy is released in 30 minutes and not charged.
But what if the car is impounded? As I understand it, this falls under the purview of the police, not the DA's.
