With all we know about 9/11 and how fast the Patriot act was approved, it should be no surprise that the intent was to use it. It was approved, for the"good" of our country. If you know anyone that has a fast car, they are going to try it out, right? Just saying....
Patriot Act's speed suggests the plan already existed and only needed a Pearl Harbor-type excuse to implement.
"If you know anyone that has a fast car, they are going to try it out, right?"
Not necessarily. I've lost track of how many times I'm at a stoplight waiting behind someone in a sleek new Mustang or Camaro, and when we get a greenlight they slowly merge into the empty intersection like drowsy Gramma Turtle's delicate bunions relax into the gas pedal like a pillow.
I knew crap that both parties swept under the rug to hide what really happened w/ the OKC bombing and 96 TWA Flight 800 massacre (both cover-ups leading to 9/11), but I didn't realize what a devious snake ol Joe was re: Internet. Whatever censorship we've seen lately, he'd make 1000x worse. Good to know.
Between the cost of the car, how much the insurance costs, and how much more likely they are to be watched by police to make sure they're following the speed limits? Unless they're a low ranking enlisted that just bought it to show off, I would be willing to bet on most high end car owners being far more careful with their vehicle than the guy in a beater.
"low ranking enlisted that just bought it to show off"
Funny you mention that, as the only time I've encountered people actually using their accelerators was last year when I visited Fayetteville NC (Fort Bragg), and I could barely sleep all night long b/c every time intersection lights turned green (even at 3 AM) some guy would peel and roar, haha.
