It is amazing. I remember first reading through Gods laws for Israel and being in awe. No human system compares to the justice, equity, and reason God provided to Israel

I wouldn't exactly call the transcripts of seventy Jews arguing over the proper procedure for prayer recitations to be all that amazing.

Wait! There's an addendum for procedures if the prayer is recited by a left handed person.

Wait! There's an addendum for procedures if the person's thirteenth birthday occurs before a new moon.

Wait! There's an addendum for procedures if he's left handed, turns thirteen before a new moon, and has primary residence outside of the national borders.

Repeat for every possible topic known to man. And every possible permutation of possible situations that may affect the circumstances.

Have you actually read the Talmud/Mishnah and Midrash or are you just reading portions on the internet? I'm genuinely curious because my line of thought was similar to yours until I read the entire text.
