The media are simply representing the people as they desire them to be: lifeless cardboard cutouts who are totally compliant. Is it art imitating life?

MAGAlikethis 32 points ago +32 / -0

Honestly, I believe Big Tech wants people to conduct their lives in a virtual manner as much as possible because they reap the benefits. No more meeting people in person, no more going to events, no going out to stores... they're pushing for the entire human experience to be done online. It's extremely isolating and unhealthy.

BritPedeMEGA 9 points ago +10 / -1

They’re pushing for the entire human existence to be dead. FTFY

mathman 11 points ago +11 / -0

I see the cardboard "people" as a slightly more obvious version of the anonymous "followers" and "likes" and "upvotes" that control so many of our lives.

I'm not sure when it started, but anecdotally this whole simulated humanity thing got much worse around 2013 or 2014. Obama loved it even as he played golf to get away from it.

Right. If they had been honest about that from the start, nobody would have gone along with it. But, since people are stupid and shortsighted . . .

34
Isolated_Patriot 34 points ago +34 / -0

"Honest"

Well, it's one of the few things they were honest about from the moment they started using the term "The new normal." They started that the day that "15 days to slow the spread" hit the airwaves.

Not "this is all just temporary" or "this will be over in fourteen days" they never said "we just need to hold out for a little while till it's over." It was immediate and direct "This is the new normal, get used to it."

Yet people failed to recognize that every change they pushed was intended to be permanent when it was the one thing they didn't actually lie about.

25
DeadOverRed 25 points ago +25 / -0

Yeah, the new normal line was definitely a clue. "Two weeks to flatten the curve" was the excuse.

Pede3 18 points ago +18 / -0

It's been pretty apparent in PA for awhile. Wolf doesn't have any intention of loosening the bar/restaurant 25% indoor seating restriction anytime soon. Businesses are disappearing practically overnight. Green phase is still a joke. No in person school, closed libraries, shortened business hours for many businesses, etc. Wolf doesn't have the $100/week extra for unemployment, and is writing letters to Congress for the $600. That's unlikely to happen, so he should free the people to make their own educated decisions about risk tolerance.

They told us their plan. They said “it’s the new normal”.

And it’s fucking sad that everyone is playing along with it. Since the mask mandates in Oregon months ago, I have seen 2 people without a mask besides myself. Everyone just capitulates. I now try to keep track of everyone I see walking towards a building without a mask, hoping they don’t put one on...but every fucking time they manage to pull one out of their pocket before they reach the door. its so disheartening.

It’s also scary too, because say something catastrophic happens, something you’d have to rely on the help of strangers. I just don’t see how I could trust anyone here. They are all zombie sheep, and it’s very isolating to know it’s like this in many places

That and the Orwellian newspeak term "social distancing".

8
incogneato 8 points ago +8 / -0

It IS Orwellian. A total oxymoron. You are 100% correct.

5
BritPedeMEGA 5 points ago +5 / -0

Antisocial distancing.

War is peace, freedom is slavery, diversity is our strength, the new normal. They can go phuq themselves.

2
jackdaniels 2 points ago +2 / -0

I told that to a random grocery employee as the looudspeaker intoned that monoyonously over and over. That was in april.

It should be physicla disycance but maintain social connections. Of course, they really do mean social distance, so they can tear society apart.

Notice how the only things getting banned are places where people can talk to each other and exchange ideas. It's like they only want us communicating online so it can be controlled.

5
Evei 5 points ago +5 / -0

controlled and monitored.

One of the biggest logistical problems with an organized effort to burn out the cancer is the need to communicate plans and directives in a manner that cannot be easily observed/overheard by the enemy.

When I say that I don't mean violence or acting how these idiot leftists are acting with their goofy protests and rioting and looting. I mean we leave them in the dust. We make our own Hollywood, our own Netflix, our own studios, our own sports leagues, our own SNL. Our own colleges and universities. You get the idea. The left is in too much control of our lives and we're living in THEIR insanity and it's bullshit.

Their agendas seep through their messaging. Why was it labelled SOCIAL distancing instead of what it is, PHYSICAL distancing? Purposeful intent. I can be socially very close to someone I am physically distant from and they purposely inverted the meaning of words to get their sick fetish off. Isolation.Masks.Trauma. hmm nothing to see here! No relation to our elitist cult move along.

3
Right0hio [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

I've wondered that myself! Thank you!

4

It's all part of the democrats new normal until we all get the Fauci-Gates vaccine and micro chip injections. 💉💰💉💰💉💰

3
PurestEvil 3 points ago +3 / -0

In Germany, possibly in all of Europe, the term "the new normal" is pushed. It's a hardcore propaganda phrase and it's even painted to the entrance of at least one train station close to where I live. And it's about getting used to masks & social distancing & some other bullshit.

It's essentially this: "Get used to the new clown world, bitch."

Went to Best Buy the other day to pick up some boomer trons, and when I get to check our there is an employee behind the counter, surrounded by a plastic shield, with a 9 foot table separating the cus Omer from the checkout employee. Money and merchandise were exchanged by sliding a fucking tray back and forth. Fucking clown world lunatics

From a biblical standpoint being a fanatic of sports is a form of idolatry and God is moving these things out of people's lives. Sports betting, fantasy leagues, sports card collecting is akin to Wall Street investing. The golden bull on Wall Street is symbolic of the idol from Exodus. Just my two cents.

I always thought it was weird that a grown man would walk around with the name of another man on the back of his shirt anyway. Maybe I would if I got a piece of the ad money, but otherwise, no

1
MakeAmericaVapeAgain 1 point ago +1 / -0

it does the opposite of what it was meant to do. seeing fans was supposed to help us feel like things were normal. in practice the digital people look weird and feel wrong. the off-putting feeling reminds us more of how shitty the situation is.

1

For years I've been complaining that there are "too many 2-dimensional cardboard cutouts*" and not enough 3-dimensional human beings in the world, but I wasn't expecting it to be taken literally!
