And ain't it a shame? If you cut Austin and Houston out of Texas, it might be the most perfect place in the world. I'd sure like to know whether the mass exodus from California to Austin was a planned strategic move by the left to corrupt the center of the Conservative Universe.
I just wish Texas had mountains. I'm from the west and I can't live in a place without mountains on the horizon. It really bothers me. I've spent a significant amount of time in various parts of Texas and I love the people and lifestyle, but I just can't.
Before anyone jumps in to defend Texas I'm not shitting on it. It just doesn't seem to be for me and I've tried. I know about and have been to hill country. The tallest mountain in Texas is Guadalupe and I've been to the top of it. It's still less than 10,000feet tall. There's a reason Durango and Santa fe are so popular for Texans. When you come from a place with 13,000 foot mountains galore and pine forests that's hard to leave behind.
Austin has always been like that, though. It’s gotten worse for sure thanks to the influx of leftists from Houston and Dallas (and California to probably a lesser extent).
I've been in central Austin for 22 years. It's always been leftist, of course. What seems to be happening politically is that the commies in charge are feeling more more empowered now because other cities have provided an example that they think they can follow (Portland, SF). And they also have a shit ton more money thanks to the exploding tax base.
KVUE or one of the other local stations did a snap poll after the police were defunded this past week and 87% of respondents did not approve. These polls usually skew left. I think the city council (especially after what they've done to the city regarding the homeless problem) is a out a bit over their skis.
Since I live here I think I have a pretty good view view of where the leftard voters are coming from. The people I know that moved here from CA are all actually pretty based. The liberal jackasses I know all came from Dallas and Houston
Austin TX is epicenter of dirty white Subaru lesbians.
You've never been to Vermont.
I sold my white Subaru Wednesday in WI. I hated driving that thing

Yeah, no mountains that westerners would call mountains. Lots of other good shit that those mountain states don't have, though.
