They were selling stuff too but it started raining as soon as I pulled up so they were packing up. Lots of people stopping by though.

This is encouraging. It's a disgrace the way Georgia was one of only nine states that moved to the left in 2016 relative to 2012.

We've got too many transplants.

I'm a transplant to Georgia myself -- in fact, I've been a Georgian for exactly 25 years today -- but my family started voting Republican back in the late 1980s, when we still lived in Pennsylvania. We're not all idiots. Some are, though.

I think it's a combination of geography and comfort, but the geographic aspect isn't what you might think. Those who have benefited the most from the 1963-2016 order are the ones who hate Trump the most. The geographic aspect of this is that the Atlanta metropolitan area is loaded with people who benefited greatly from the 1963-2016 order. That's why it grew so fast in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s.

Conversely, consider Pittsburgh, which got ass-fucked and left for dead at the same time that Atlanta was skyrocketing. Is it any wonder why western Pennsylvania outside of Pittsburgh city proper has since become Trump country? When you're basically written off as worthless by two generations of politicians and business leaders, you'll find a strange common ground with a billionaire whom they hate just as much.
