The fact that he preys upon anyone is what makes a man a monster. I don't think the age part particularly matters in that scenario. I think it would have been a different story if people were being introduced for marriages, for example, as opposed to using sex to blackmail people, which is what the case was. I think Freedom has to be tempered by pragmatism when we face difficult times (like now), but that we should be hesitant to take it away from people in any other circumstance, because what is trivial to us may be very important to someone else.

I agree. Growing up you hear stories about free societies sacrificing freedoms in times of crisis and it doesn't make sense growing up in peace time. But the introduction of Roman dictators for periods of 20 years seems not completely outlandish after this past year. Cleaning the corruption out of this country isn't going to happen at the ballot box. Even with a November landslide there's going to be sanctuaries for these leftist insurrectionaries to regroup in and they'll make another run at this in 4 short years.
