I guess at the time, he was receiving dialysis? which I was unaware of, but they decided in their opinion, whatever treatment he was receiving, he was too old to bother with, and didn't treat him.
He subsequently died, when before the car accident, he was perfectly fine. We've all seen examples of death panels on here & elsewhere before, but here's another one -- that's Socialist Medicine for you. They decide if you deserve to live or not.
