The leftists keep pushing HARD left which shifts the Overton window every election and makes the "just mostly left" candidates look like moderates, and so we keep shifting ever further and further leftward. And I say "arguably" because many of Trump's policies were actually Democrat policies only 10-20 years ago. Heck, Trump himself was a Democrat before he became a Republican, and it's not like any of his opinions have changed much over the years. Back in 2000, Trump probably would've been regarded as a moderate or perhaps even left-leaning. Now he's a fucking "far right fascist". Sadly, this country is doomed unless conservatives can push that pendulum back the other way. Trump will simply be an aberration; a temporary roadblock on the slow march leftwards. Because the next President after he's gone will have to be just a little bit more left in order to get elected, and the President after them just a little more, until eventually socialism IS implemented and our constitutional rights are suspended entirely (other than the right to fuck children, which will become enshrined in law).
