I have a clerical job at a university and contact tracing will begin this week. Is my gut-felt rejection to this an over reaction? Also, can I stay off-the-radar by leaving my phone at home? Thanks.

First of all, it's reassuring to hear that I'm not the only one who has Orwell on the brain. In other words, my paranoia isn't irrational. :-)
Also, thanks for the info on the faraday bag. I didn't know something like that existed. I'm surprised it's so affordable. Thank you. I'll share this info with a co-worker of mine - we're both wanting to get around the contact tracing.
The Faraday bag is great as it allows you to take your phone with you. Just remember any calls or texts can't get through while it is in the bag.
You're not paranoid if they are really after you. They really are after us. Prepare and behave accordingly.
Fun fact: you can wrap it in two layers if foil if you dont want to buy the bag!
