You are lucky you even managed to get any ammo, there's a major lack of inventory nationwide. Practice, but hold on to some pewpew for January-February
Yep, it's a good thing I have a reasonable amount on hand. I haven't tried to buy anymore, but I've heard how bad it is.
u/EDKH_73618054 you would probably benefit from getting into dry-fire. It's a good practice anyway, but especially now that ammo is scarce. Double- and triple-check that your gun is unloaded, have a safe direction with a hard backstop to aim at (because the universal rules always apply).
And then practice your grip, your sight picture, pulling the trigger without moving your sights, your draw and acquiring your sight picture quickly, etc.
Yep. Local store / range would only sell two boxes to people using their range. Another guy came up to the counter a few minutes later and they let him buy 5 boxes before he left.
I can not congratulate you enough for exercising your profound right as an American and as a man to arm yourself. I mean this truly and sincerely, and I'm so happy you've been inspired to take the leap.
Your next step should be to acquire a basic, entry level rifle, such as an ArmaLite Defender, which is very affordable. (less than a new smartphone). There is a vast world of difference between what you can accomplish or learn with a pistol, vs an AR.
It's fantastic to be comfortable with pistols, but when the time comes, you will not want to rely on one.
Pistols are terrific and certainly have their place but I am reminded of the Wyatt Earp quote, "No wise man ever took a handgun to a gun fight." Make sure you get a long gun and a shotgun. Use your pistol to get to your rifle or scattergun.
NICE don't forget to take classes on gun safety...good for you Pede
Great !
Now - Go to the Range....
Shoot, and learn a good grip - and good technique.
get a good feel for shooting this particular gun.
Practice dry fire at home. Youtube has good drills.
Get a CCW
America, A Nation of Riflemen (who sometimes carry pistols)
Please to hear you are fully committed to memorizing a list of 4 things!
But seriously - well done for buying a gun.

Snap caps or anything like that helpful?
I've never used them, but I know a lot of folks like them
Dry fire practice can be helpful (and save money) but remember that you absolutely must follow the Four Rules of Gun Safety at all times!
True, but most stores are saving plenty for people who buy guns
yes, I saw that happen, they didnt say they were doing that, I didnt get mad, Im ok with that.

Now do yourself a solid and buy some proper expanding ammo for defense. Training grade is fine for the range, but get the good stuff for real use.
Speer Gold Dot +P 124 expanding is my choice, but there are many good ones.
Gold dots and Federal HST are my go to
Yep, 147gr HST in my pistol, 75gr soft point gold dot in my rifle.
I know what my stimulus check is buying
A pink polo?
I lost my stimulus check in a boating accident....
Probably one of those orange safety devices so I don't get myself into trouble
Training, practice, then more training then practice, practice, practice...

What gun is that?
If you can find the ammo.
Buy snap caps and practice reloads and two eyed aiming
Isn't Blackwater a trigger word for the left? I think I heard that word thrown around a few times during the GWB administration.

Blackwater ammunition?
Didn't know that existed. Do they manufacture it or is it just licensed?
I have GOT to know the story on that ammo.
A freakin Mossberg. You are setting the beginner bar a little high : )
Congrats fren!
I have that gun! GRATS!
Hey, I use that same gun pouch! Enjoy your freedom, and stay safe.
Didn't know Mossberg was making pistols. Learn something every day.
