Your next step should be to acquire a basic, entry level rifle, such as an ArmaLite Defender, which is very affordable. (less than a new smartphone). There is a vast world of difference between what you can accomplish or learn with a pistol, vs an AR.

It's fantastic to be comfortable with pistols, but when the time comes, you will not want to rely on one.
