Why is your .308 heavier? I had not looked but they can't be that much bigger. I would say the ar15 is light as shit, and something a little heavier might be preferred, like, idk, an AK in .30. People say an AK is better, smart people, people you would know. I'm not saying the AK is better, I could say it, but I'm not. But lots of people are saying it.

AR-10s are heavy. The bolt itself is much larger and way heavier. The receivers are substantially larger and the buffer needs to be heavier to compensate for the much larger round. The barrels need to be larger as well. Then the weight difference of a loaded .308 mag vs a .556 mag. It adds up quick.

POF makes a badass AR-15 in .308 that is ridiculously light. Unfortunately the Revolutions are damn near impossible to find right now.

Ah, you cleared it up for me, that makes sense. The ar10 is not, the same as an 'ar15' chambered in .308.

You're thinking 300 blackout

No, I'm not, 300 blackout is a sub caliber, .308 is a rifle caliber. I know what an ar15 is and I know what a ar10 is. The m4 shoots puny little bullets, because it will be more controlable in full automatic mode. Since mine does not have full auto, I might as well have a .308, the big bullet. because bigger bullets, generally are better. I had not looked into it far enough to see how much heavier the gun might be. And then you start to realise, hey, there are some other pretty good battle rifles in .308, and some of them even have pistons......

I'm not real interesting in 300bo the 7.62x39 is a great cartridge, it I only had one carbine, it might very well be 7.62x39.

TheDirtmerchant answered correctly. All that he said plus I have a large 36x optic on top. I need to order an bipod I just keep forgetting.
