When this doesn't work- which it never does, they turn to more gun laws that restrict the rights of lawful gun owners even more. All the while the lawbreakers still get access to guns because they do not follow all the gun laws. So that creates a situation where the law abiding citizens have less gun rights and the lawbreakers still continue to do what they do.
