By intentionally ignoring them the other way around, they force their opposition to do the same in reverse in order to counter their one-sided narrative. But in the end both sides become one-sided, so the right can be accused of being one-sided too.
If that weren't the tactic, they'd just report anything that fuels race war. But having their enemies play their game is better than having to maintain the narrative alone.
