They can do that Venice thing or whatever, I don't care. Imagine their shock when they all move to flyover country and find out there's actually people living there.
The ocean level may rise in the future, but just for some clarity, it hasn't risen any significant measurable amount since the invention of the camera, or since people have been painting recognizable landmarks on the shore...for hundreds of years...
Pretty cool pic, in any future scenario where sea levels gradually rise, we would always adapt. There's multiple examples of this all over the world, sea walls, floating cities etc. But New York will never look like this.

Look up a picture of the Statue of Liberty from the 1930s. Now find the most recent one you can. Compare the water lines. Discuss.

Very true. I used to be gung-ho about sea walls to save these cities. Now? Fuck 'em. Let nature have her day.
