It boggles my mind why the Portland police haven't arrested the mayor, city council, and DA for not only allowing this to happen, but encouraging it and in some cases publicly endorsing it. The mayor here in Portland has an odd relationship with the police; he is the police commissioner. He disallows arrest in many cases, and the cases that do end in arrest, the DA refuses to pursue charges. Violent criminals are arrested, released, and return to rioting the next night. It's time the police arrest the real source of criminality here: the mayor, the city council, and the DA.
