  1. You and you alone are responsible for your personal safety. Learn and be prepared to protect yourself. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

  2. Practice common sense. Think! Don't drive into potentially dangerous situations. The driver should have known that with 50 straight days of rioting and violence in the area, he should have stayed the fuck out of there.

. #2 sounds a lot like victim blaming. Last time I checked, this was still America. Who knows, He could have had a perfectly legitimate reason to be there. I know what you are saying, and the advice makes sense if you have a choice, but it is also the case that these assholes are breaking the law by being violent in the first place.

edit: The last time that someone decided to protect themselves from the mob in Portland, they were mercilessly drug through the court system. Look up "Laughing at Liberals" YouTube channel for more info on how ridiculous his treatment has been. (https://www.youtube.com/user/LaughingAtLiberals)

Yes it is victim blaming. It's also idiot blaming.

Spin it any way you want, but when said 'victim' deliberately puts themselves in harms way, when all the warning signs say to avoid it, then they take the blame.
